Huh... Inside an apartment? I guess it must be a Connecticut thing.

We keep the gator out back in the neighborhood drainage pond. It seriously cuts down on the number of stray dogs and cats we have running around, and it makes a great conversation starter.

Lawmakers considered adding alligators, crocodiles and other large reptiles to their list of banned pets, but that version of the legislation was scrapped because critics said it was too broad and banned too many kinds of animals.

Just make them get a license like most places require you do with a dog or cat.

You can own an alligator, but not grow marijuana. What a country!

It's not really good to have those things in human housing. They carry salmonella and due to their size and speed they can contaminate many things. If you have a small child, they are especially dangerous because kids will very frequently touch things and then put their hands in their mouth. Salmonella in adults is bad enough, but it can be deadly for little children.

This is true. Never have a Tebow in the house.

Well, it IS getting fairly chilly in CT. If they left it outside, the poor thing would freeze! Alligators *are* cold-blooded after all.

Connecticut updated its laws in 2009 to ban private ownership of primates

Luckily, I've got a lease

Officers were called to the Ferry Street apartment Tuesday night when a resident reported that an acquaintance was trying to kick down his door in a dispute about money.

She kept screaming "Give me my money, and make it snappy!"
