I have a copy of the old mass market paperback of that book circa 1950s. I just busted it out and read it to my daughter a couple months ago. It sill holds up. One funny thing about it is it boasts it is "In color!" but it's all black ink printed on multi-colored card stock paper.

Australian Herding Dogs are the smartest things.
My Blue Heeler, Mingus, frightens me sometimes with how much he knows.
If only HE could drive stick shift..

"This was weird, even for the Northern Territory," he said.
I'm want to move there. Sounds fun.

Ok, I want to share my CSB:
Two, count them two suicidal women last night. Driving in Oakland, Pittsburgh. You know, the University district.

I make a left onto Fifth Ave, which is cool, everyone coming the other way is making a right and it's three lanes wide. Except as I'm straightening out some chick in a dark blue Yaris just drifts across into my lane.

It's a good thing no one was in the oncoming lane, and yes I now know I can lock up the manual brakes in my Pacer just fine. Of course I would have gone through her plastic car like a knife through butter.

I head down to the end and cut down Craft to get on the Boulevard of the Allies. Two left turn lanes turning onto six lanes and a turning lane between.

Chick in the left lane ends up four lanes over from me. Yes, she drove a block in the oncoming left late; a whole farking normal ROAD away from the rest of us. Luckily again there was no oncoming traffic.

So, how exciting has your holiday driving been?

/I need a drink just telling the story.

Suzy is Beagle/Heeler mix. Thankfully she didn't get the Beagle voice. She is Heeler smart and faithful.

Agreed. My pup is slowly learning to open the sliding glass door, without being taught. I don't like the fact that my dog is figuring out how to open doors that lead to the outside world.

I taught my lab/shepard mix Sadie how to pick up pieces of trash in the yard and bring them to my significant other. Now everyday it is part of her morning routing.

/Sadie is able to run 35 miles per hour
/Sadie will stay for hours when told to do so.

I'm a lifelong atheist. I've always said that the existence of the domestic dog is about the only argument I know to support the idea of the existence of a loving god.
/sadly, it's not quite enough.
