I'm willing to be it will be found in a gun/evidence room someplace. Seems like the type of thing where he had it in his cruiser when he was on the SWAT team, and then when they disbanded it was brought back to the station and no one logged it.

Whenever I go to the range, the chuckleheads who are invariably handling their firearms unsafely and shooting like they're barely aware which end of the firearm is dangerous almost always turn out to be cops. Police standards for marksmanship are notoriously low.

To be fare It can happen to anyone. I keep losing my car keys.

Man, I wish I knew where that lost and found was; my Reservist Rifle needs to be repaired and none of the vendors in the Capitol Wasteland can repair it to 100%. Also if there were some combat helmets around I could use some of them too.
