(Bleacher Report) Obvious Phil Jackson would make the New York Knicks contenders... you know, if the NBA lockout didn't render that a moot point   (bleacherreport.com) divider line 8

I really doubt Phil Jackson will go back to coaching. If he really wanted to keep coaching he would have stayed with Lakers where the team at least knows his system. He's too old and his body is failing too fast for him to be willing to implement the triangle offense with yet another team.

Phil Jackson is good at making egos work together. The catch is the egos he was successful with also happened to be some of the best players ever. The Knicks may have the egos, but not the talent.

There is no reason why the Knicks with Stoudimire and Carmelo shouldn't be contending for a playoff 1-4 spot perhaps for years to come. Orlando may be Howardless soon. That leaves an aging Celtics team and the Heat. They gave up a ton for Carmello. Some of the missing pieces may start filling in.

Um, defense doesn't mean anything? Amar'e and Carmelo play zero defense and you've got a PF who hates rebounding.
