Okay, I'm curious. Why wouldn't you own an ice pick if you lived in Florida. Don't Floridians use ice for cold drinks & the like? Don't they ever have a problem with bagged ice cubes sticking together & using an ice pick to separate them?

A REAL ice pick? Like the long stiletto-type thingys? I've never seen one of those in my life, outside of old movies and the occasional ice sculpting contest. And if you attacked someone with an ice SCRAPER I'm not sure anyone could get hurt.

I'm curious why this hasn't been fully explained in the local Tampa Bay news. Is the victim not expected to live? Are the police unsure if they have a case because of Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law?

Personally, I don't consider using deadly force unless I'm outnumbered or the other guy pulls a knife or something.

/Not too keen about Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law.

I would think many kids today aren't familiar of them since block ice isn't around as much these day.

I have one in my house. If you ever set up a bar with a nice ice bucket, you probably need one. Even cubed ice eventually sticks together. It's also handy for random tasks around the house.
