The war was over?

When the entire comedic premise of a conceptual piece of satire is captured by the headline, and the headline isn't funny, don't go on to write the satire. Let it go, it's gone.

How is WWII going to help them with shows about pawn shops, truck drivers and lumber-jacks?

In addition to being terrible, the article is way off base.

Starting WWIII would be much more helpful.

/voting? why?

What does this have to do with pawn shop shenanigans or buying junk from hoarders?

Video games can be useful for showing how events occured and the politics and economics behind them, the history channel shows crazy people buying garbage from other crazy people.

Actually, restarting the Civil War would be better, and a whole lot cheaper. Bonus: getting all the Tea Baggers in one spot for a well-placed MOAB.

Ahh the good old days, when the military had the slightest patina of virtue and purpose.

How about restarting the Korean War so we can get another 11 seasons of MASH and then one and a half seasons of After MASH?

History Channel no longer showing actual "history" is but ONE of the reasons I gave up on cable channels, dropped Dish, and put up a good outdoor antenna to get local, FREE, over-the air TV.

Other reasons... BBC America no longer showing enough actual British programming, AMC going "commercial" and no longer showing classic movies, Oprah eating "Discovery Health" and leaving me no access to "Dr. G:Medical Examiner", TV Land rarely showing TRUE classic TV series anymore, Science Channel airing science fiction series, Discovery and TLC becoming "reality TV" channels, the Weather Channel rarely showing actual weather forecasts, etc...etc...

Got tired of paying $120/month for nearly 300 channels, and rarely finding anything on worth watching!

I'd be happy if the Russkies and the cold war were back in play. You could make a decent game or movie out of that. Islamic fundamentalists are no fun at all.

Yeah, but this time, I want to be on the side of the Germans and Japanese.

How about restarting world war 1 in 2014 to coincide with its 100th anniversary?

What I'd like to see is several web sites with the news of that war as if we were 100 years ago, day by day, from each sides of the conflict. If a defeat was reported as a win back then still report it as a win (with a link to what really happened).

80s through 91 Cold War was best war. We could have all the fun with none of the war.

And you could call Liberals Pinko Commies and you could accuse Republicans of not paying their taxes, and also accuse them of supporting the Commies.

What I'm saying is it was much better when all of Americas problems could be blamed on the USSR, and we didn't spend all of our time trying to kill each other.

What happened? Did that fake cold war against Canada not work?

Good point. None of these jobs existed at the time.
