fatalvenom: He keeps putting his foot in his mouth.

You'd get credit for that if it didn't happen to be in the actual headline from TFA.

Hope he can move on with this, and start off on the right foot.

Oh well, looks like Fat Boy is going to have to brown bag his all-you-can-eat buffet lunch this week...

I DRTFA.

It's an instant reaction to Rex shooting his mouth off.

It's okay. Tebow's praying for both Rexie and fatalvenom.

I can see this smug fan bragging to someone how he got Rex fined. I can only hope that everyone around him tells him to "shut the f*ck up"

I recently decided to become a Jets fan just because of Rex Ryan. This guy produces more comedy gold than network TV.

FTFA:

A league source confirmed to Yahoo! Sports on Monday morning that the NFL fined Ryan $75,000 for his remarks. Under the terms of his contract signed in February 2009, it would take Ryan 9 1/2 days of his salary to pay off the fine.

Holy 1%

Jets' fans -- making Eagles' fans look classy since 2009.

Who wants to tell Goodell that Rex Ryan is a fat white guy?

I dont have a problem with him cussing at a fan. It just doesent bug me at all. Pretty soon the NFL will be a flag football leauge

Since I'm in a hurry, I'm gonna declare THIS thread is where we put our picks for this week. That way, when we do something stupid, those around us can point to the headline and say "Shut the fark Up".

Turkey Day!

GB @ DET
No farking way I'm putting a penny on this game for anything but a win. I don't care what odds, or what spread, or what the under is. This could easily be repeat of last year's 7-3 Lions win, and it could be a hundred pointer between them, and anything in the middle. I think the Packs offense is just a little too much and they come away with the W, but I don't know by how much or under what circumstances. People will start this game and not finish it.

MIA @ DAL
fark you, Dallas. I'm pretty sure you'll win against the Fish...but I'm rooting for them. They're coming off of 3 w's in a row and give less than a shiat about pretty much anything. A team with nothing to lose plays pretty hard. The Vegas types have the home team by 6 or so.

SF @ BAL
Harbaughpalooza!
Vegas has this at a dead heat. If any D can even up Baltimore, its SF this year. Ray Rice? Frank Gore. Anquan Boldin? Vernon Davis. Torrey? Crabtree.

*coinflip.

This is gonna be one hella fun game to watch in either case. I'm leaning towards Baltimore, cause murderers at home are tough to beat.

ARI @ STL
An early 'who the fark cares?' game out of the NFC Worst. Seattle, Arizona and St Louie are clumped together in the back corner of the litterbox with 2, 3, and 4 wins. Bradford vs Skelton. Yay. Vegas says dead even. I'll take the home team, if I *have* to pick.

BUF @ NYJ
It was fun while it lasted, Buffalo. You're 8 point underdogs to Mark farking Sanchez. I hope you sit down and consider that carefully this week.

CLE @ CIN
The Hi in the middle, round on both ends Bowl kicks off at 1pm. This should be Dalton's shot at getting a bad ending against Baltimore last week out of his mind by stomping on a perenially hapless Browns team.

HOU @ JAC
Any other time you have Matt Leinart under center, you're pencilled in for an embarassing loss. However, I'm not sure even he can be worse than Blaine Gabbert and the Jags right now. I'll grudgingly take the Texans.

CAR @ IND
Very nearly a divide by zero suckage game...except Cam Newton is getting better and better.Too bad he doesn't play defense too.

TB @ TEN
Vegas says this one's dead even. I'm actually inclined to agree. The mealeymouthed buffoon still isn't running for shiat. Hasselbeck is banged up a bit, although Locker did pretty well coming in off the bench last week.
Tampa has problems, yes, but they run hard and keep trying. I'll take the home team for now, pending further review later in the week.

MIN @ ATL
Look, Atlanta has played better in the last couple weeks, but Mippo could score on that defense. Ponder is the real thing, and what better team to play to get your feet underneath you. Still, Ryan and the Falcons offense will probably put up too many points for Vikes at the end of the day.

CHI @ OAK
Caleb Hanie to the rescue! Seriously, I can't even say the guys name without stifling a giggle. The offensive coordinator doesn't like him and has no faith in him, and the ghost of Brad johnson ...I mean Todd Collins...is the other option? What's a Henderley?
Methinks Oakland and Carson have a good time stomping on the Bears.

WAS @ SEA
Seattle's ...whatever the fark that stadia thing is called...is pretty much cursed ground to all that enter there to play as the visitors. Seattle sucks, yes...and they win at home.

NE @ PHI
I'd really like to see a tie here just to piss people off. But I think we know how this one ends.

DEN @ SD
Could this be the beginning of the end for Norv and AJ? We can only hope. The money says Chargers at home, but I'm pulling for the jesus kid just for the lulz.

PIT @ KC
Tyler Palko is going to be wearing a 'DTF' sticker for Ben this week. This is not going to be pretty.
That said, the Chiefs at home can really surprise you if you look past them. I don't think Tomlin will allow that though. I'd be willing to wager that the Stillers cover the double-digit spread.

NYG @ NO
The teams that play well against New Orleans are teams that can get to Drew Brees without blitzing and disrupt him in the pocket. Like the G-Men. The Saints D is just what the Eli ordered, but they'll probably still get at least a pair of picks off of him.
I'll take the home team to win, but fark the spread. I see a last-second field goal deciding this one.

Not sure I like the 'moral' aspect of a lot of these fines. I don't think the NFL should have a say on anything that goes on off the field.

Yea, it's a bit simplistic, but I like the antics of sports figures.

I'd penalize the guy for not using the proper rejoinder when addressing the fan. "Go f*ck yourself" would have been better than "Shut the f*ck up".

Lou Cypher: I'd penalize the guy for not using the proper rejoinder when addressing the fan. "Go f*ck yourself" would have been better than "Shut the f*ck up".

The former is just NYC-speak for "hello" while the latter is more of a "how ya doin?" ... I see no reason to penalize the guy thousands of dollars for speaking in the local dialect.

"Shut the f*ck up" is just about admitting that he knows the fan is correct and that he simply wants him to stop pointing it out.

$75,000 is 9.5 days of salary for Rex Ryan.
$75,000 is 1.5 years of salary for me.

what does the NFl do with the $$ they collect in fines? I hope they use it for a good cause and not to line the pockets of the higher ups.

Not a big fan of Rexie, but seriously what did they expect him to say and who really cares?

weatherwitch: what does the NFl do with the $$ they collect in fines?

Retired players' pensions, charities.
