Christ. What a bunch of children.

Palin seems to be able to turn any environment into a high school cheerleader "drama."

Imagine what our country would be like if everybody mentioned in that article were shot into the sun.

Lando Lincoln: Imagine what our country would be like if everybody mentioned in that article were shot into the sun.

Why do you hate the sun?

Hey, you lie down with pigs...

I suppose that could go either way on this one.

Diogenes: Christ. What a bunch of children.

Exactly what I came here to say. Rather reflective of the majority of the GOP at this point.

Too funny. Ailes will have to offer her bonuses for "announcements."

If Palin doesn't care about her party, country, church or family why would she give a shiat about Ailes? Doesn't matter anyway, FN is a whorehouse and Ailes will pay her as long as she brings in clientele.

FTFA: The Fox News chief ... was livid that Palin made the October 5 announcement on Mark Levin's conservative talk-radio program, robbing Fox News of an exclusive and a possible ratings bonanza.

Aren't Fox News' ratings pretty much static at this point? I mean pretty much everyone who's going to be watching Fox is pretty much already watching Fox, aren't they?

her $1 million annual contract

Seriously. Let that sink in. She gets a million dollars a year to say whatever pops in to her head.

This is exactly as childish as I imagined it, therefore it really doesn't qualify as news.

But Fox needs them to be watching ALL THE TIME. Only then can they remove the desire to view any other sources of information. As long as their viewers keep switching back to other media, there's a alight chance they might learn something that wasn't filtered through the echochamber.

/I hate it when I write like this.

I've been on Fark long enough to know it's because he found out she wasn't going to sleep with him.

2011-11-22 12:00:04 PM
FTFA: Palin is said to have made her announcement on Levin's show because she's been upset that Fox News has given a platform to Karl Rove, one of her principal critics. "She isn't happy with Karl," one Palin adviser told me. "From day one, he hasn't been very nice." Levin had become Palin's biggest booster in the conservative commentariat, and Palin is known for rewarding loyalists, and punishing her detractors.

Palin is the mom who storms into the local school board meeting raising hell because her daughter wasn't picked for the middle school cheerleading squad. The mind boggling thing is that she was elected state governor and nearly vice president.

2011-11-22 12:01:08 PM
"I paid her for two years to make this announcement on my network," Ailes pointedly told Shine.

I thought it was for her thoughtful analysis.

Like her white knighters here on Fark, she won't sleep with him either

For some reason, the picture of Ailes in TFA makes me think of hedonism bot from Futurama.

bulldg4life: Seriously. Let that sink in. She gets a million dollars a year to say whatever pops in to her head.

Big numbers are difficult to contextualize for many people. Let's put it into perspective of a normal wage-earner. If that were a full time job (and it is not), she'd be paid more than $480 an hour to do... whatever it is she does. The mind reels. I need to get into the business of yelling about socialism. Or does my physical-science-based degree disqualify me?

2011-11-22 12:07:24 PM
Ailes should send her to Karachi for 6 months to cover the war in Afghanistan.

"I paid her for two years to make this announcement on my network," Ailes pointedly told Shine.

Well Mr. Ailes, it looks like you got suckered by the Wasilla Hillbillies worse than the mouthbreathers she usually grifts a living off of. Have fun paying out the nose for her and putting up with her I'm-America's-Princess behavior just so she can childishly stab you in the back. Seriously. Have fun with that.

Oh snap. Sugar Daddy got pimped? Game reckinize game, Rog.

Thought you had old girl on lockdown, playa? You flossed that ass for years. Girl stepped out on ya, gave up the guts to your boy Marky Mark. Bro housed that shiat. Shorty flipped the script on that ass, left you on Front Street with ya dick in ya hand. You got played like xBox, SONNNNNN. Now you mad. You maaaaaaad. You mad. Why u mad tho? I ain't even mad.

The contract should have stated implicitly that she would get paid until she announced that she wasn't running for president and therefore became (even more) irrelevant. Because, come on, who didn't see this coming a mile away.

/Is that the correct use of "implicitly"?

2011-11-22 12:13:08 PM
There is still a good chance that Sarah will run as a third party independent. With Romney as the presumed GOP pick, a large part of the base will go her way. There are also a significant number Democrats who have realized that Obama is a failure, who will also throw there support to Palin. It will be a very close race.

Tusz: I need to get into the business of yelling about socialism. Or does my physical-science-based degree disqualify me?

Disqualify you? You could make great money as a contributor being a scientist who is skeptical about climate change. And when the guilt drives you insane they'll give you your own prime time show.

FoxNews employees don't get paid to analyze, they're supposed to sensationalize. I can see why Ailes would have thrown a fit. He dropped some serious cash on her.

That's because they know their base perfectly: a bunch of goddamn morons proud of their ignorance. You almost can't blame Fox News or Palin for taking advantage of these saps. Almost.

Of *course* he's upset - his media-whore didn't perform as he paid her to. Surely Palin didn't think she was hired to give her opinion, rather than perform for the dog-and-pony show that Fox News runs. I notice that she is much more low-key, or maybe fading into obscurity now that she's officially (for now) not running for President in 2012.

Coincidence?

Not really. I think you probably meant "explicitly." Don't worry about it, though - it's not as though you said "infer" when you meant "imply."

Political commentators who actually are knowledgeable and do real work get paid a nominal salary. Only a celebrity could get the kind of money she's getting, just to be herself on his channel. Show business, baby!
