Some people just really shouldn't be naked, ever.

/That includes most of Kentucky.

Young and busty, I would hope :)

I'm not in agreement with the bizarrely prudish "nudity isn't sexual" tenets of naturism, and I'm not comfortable with children in social nude settings, but I do think there's something to be said for social nudity being a means toward peaceful and polite social interaction.

Just be hygienic, and if you're a dude, respect my personal space.

you should go to a nudist "resort". people of all ages. nothing "strange" at all going on, everyone is comfortable around each other, the ones i've been to are nothing short of very protective of the children, everyone looks out for the well being of everyone else there.

as for the old notion of "some people just should never be naked", believe me it is NOT the kind of place to go for sexual enjoyment...there is EVERY body type represented. luckily, there truely is NOTHING sexual about the whole experience anyway. nudity does indeed =/= sexuality

I'm not sure what a young naturalist would look like. There should have been pics.

I've been to two. First time I was squirming and uncomfortable as hell. Second time around I barely noticed except when a real hottie was nearby. I was worried about having a 'reaction'. Highly recommend alcohol before 1st.

and luckily (at least from my experience) even if you don't take your own alcohol, plenty is readily available. i was pretty comfortable even my first time, though

I get the description of what's going on at Caliente all the time from a friend of mine who goes out there at least a couple times a month. According to him it's perfectly innocent, all ages and shapes just relaxing in the sun by the pool, etc. He said they even have security walking around to make sure no one is getting it on in the hot tub. I have several friends who like to spend weekends at the various nudist resorts around here and they're not old and not gross to look at. They just like to be naked. No big deal.

It's not for me, but to each their own!

If your mind immediately went to thoughts of pedophilia and associated activities, you have a problem.

/nudity, of any age, does not imply sexual activity

The "young adult" rates at most resorts these days goes until 35.

A lot of established resorts do have an aging membership where anyone below 40 will likely feel out of place.

Most of the people I've met are friendly and courteous at nudist resorts.

Most the resorts I've been to have a fairly strict "Behave yourselves during the day" policy. Once the sun goes down however, all bets are off.

It really is a shame they closed down Hedo III, now we are limited to only Hedo II.

my uncle, a retired navy CPO from the Nevada bomb testing days, moved to a nudist colony with his wife (who had a dozen kids) in the 80's. Not pretty people and top physical specimens to begin with, but the cancer and the leathery whole body suntan apparently made things worse.
My Dad visited a few times before uncle's death, and he made a few observations:
1. Laundry and clothing bills shrink, like an old man's dangler
2. The young women who live there believe in XL t-shirts.

/Now I need to find some eyebleach...

and as with pretty much any organization, the older folks don't want the place or the tradition dying off, so they invite younger folks to come and keep it going

I don't really see the point without it becoming sexual at some point. I can understand laying out in the sun nude and swimming nude in the pool, but to go to a party with drinks and dancing nude seems like it should result in some sexual activity. Is one suppose act as though everyone was wearing clothes and how do people respond when a person's eyes gaze over their whole body? I would like to go to one of these events to see firsthand, but I think that would be hard for me since I am very easily good to go at the drop of a hat. I wonder if it would be like going to a strip club since I don't become erect in those places. I know these things are not sexual, but seeing an attractive woman nude will provoke sexual thoughts in me especially if I am also nude.

towel to cover, roll over (if lounging), walk away, go to the bathroom, etc.

very rarely happens from what i've heard anyway.

group mentality: when everyone else is _______ you don't really notice.

non-nudist example: when driving on the autobahns, everyone around you is doing 100+ mph so you don't really notice that you are also going 100+ mph

yes, you DO notice that everyone is nude, but you quickly forget in a way

Desensitization. That, and the fact that your average nudist/naturist tends to be older and therefore less likely to pop a boner whenever the wind blows cuts down on unwanted erections. I'm with GacysBasement; this kind of thing seems to be more for people that are too cheap to go to Hedonism.

Of COURSE they want to attract younger people.

They want to LOOK at them.

/duh

2011-11-22 12:33:47 PM
Clearly submitter did not read TFA. What it's essentially saying is that naturism is going the way of the dodo unless they can attract younger people, but they are finding that extremely difficult and blame it on ineffective marketing and stereotypes about nudist colonies filled with nothing but fat old people. Nothing at all about the fact that social nudity is farking weird and no one wants to see anyone else naked in a non-sexual context. The sixties are over hippies, you lost, put your damn clothes back on.

Incog_Neeto: That article read as kind of creepy to me. Looking for younger people to be nudists! Err how young are we talking?

Probably all ages.

Considering children (What you are freaking out about) are natural nudists until adults tell them to put on clothing and punish them if they don't. Nudism has got to be one of the most indoctrinated against lifestyles out there.

But, But, I don't want to see some fatty naked or some old person EEEWWWW. Well, you know, you are probably not quite the looker yourself. Most humans are not. As long as a human is not diseased / sickly they just are humans. Letting normal natural development of humans bother you is pretty short sighted since you one day are going to look that bad or worse considering humans today are significantly less healthy than a couple generations ago.

I think I am too sexual charged to become desensitized. I could control it I am sure, but I would rather not feel as though I had to. I think hedonism would be more to my liking however being 38 even though I have a great body 6 foot 2 195 pounds very tone and 7 ½ inch when erect penis with a good amount of girth I don't think I would be very welcome. My girlfriend is enough sexual satisfaction for me as we are both at least once a day if not more type of people. I still think it would be fun to enjoy the abandonment to desire at least once.
