hm... sounds like a familiar marketing ploy...

2003-10-06 12:33:12 PM
KiLL Me. So I don't have to hear about KiLL BiLL anymore.

2003-10-06 12:33:14 PM
uuuhhhh......what?

2003-10-06 12:34:18 PM
Never, ever link to IGN.

2003-10-06 12:34:23 PM
snag snag sna snoooooooogens!

2003-10-06 12:35:10 PM
Hmmm, Lucy Liu and tentacles...

2003-10-06 12:36:01 PM
Is it bad in here? Or is it just the links?

2003-10-06 12:36:45 PM
Misleading headline.

2003-10-06 12:37:30 PM
the link was a trap

2003-10-06 12:38:24 PM
So where the fark is the anime, I've been clicking on things for five minutes and still no movie...

2003-10-06 12:38:46 PM
Notice that Daryl Hannah from Kill Bill is in this month's Playboy, way after her time has come and gone, and long after she hit the wall, so to speak ? Man, what happened to her face, it's too angular ? If she were still a mermaid now, Tom Hanks would have flushed her down the toilet by now.

2003-10-06 12:40:08 PM
If by anime short you mean crappy still image from the anime sequence that is in the yet-unreleased film, then YES, that headline is correct.

2003-10-06 12:42:08 PM
I thought it would be two frames with Japanese epilepsy inducing text "QUINTAN TARANTINO'S FOURTH MOVIE OMG LOL11!!"

2003-10-06 12:42:23 PM
Hmmm...surprisingly still image...

2003-10-06 12:43:12 PM
Is anyone else starting to get tired of this film a REALLY long movie and releasing it in two segments? I guess it's just marketing... People wouldn't go see a 4 hour movie, but they will go see the first one, then that almost guarantees their attendance on the second.

I dunno... For some reason it just annoys me.

Tell me why it shouldn't.

2003-10-06 12:45:24 PM
why do I think that this movie's gonna suck?

2003-10-06 12:45:36 PM
I'm going to see it Friday, I'll tell you afterwards if it's annoying.

2003-10-06 12:46:30 PM
I'd go see a four hour movie, just not one of Tarantino's. I can only tolerate so many "Motherf***er" and "N-word" statements in one sitting.

Now that Tarantino is trying to ass-rape the Hong Kong action movie, I just wish he'd disappear.

2003-10-06 12:47:19 PM
Wow.

I can't wait for this to come out.

So I can miss it.

2003-10-06 12:47:45 PM
I kind of like the trailers...Uma Thurman weilding a samurai sword is cool.

2003-10-06 12:48:04 PM
I saw Kill Bill a month ago at a special screening. It turns out that Uma Thurman's character really died and is a ghost all along, and Bill is her father.

2003-10-06 12:48:13 PM
There's an IGN link? At lunch time?

2003-10-06 12:48:27 PM
I can still smell the McGriddles from their McDonald's stint.

2003-10-06 12:49:57 PM
i must be crazy i like Pulp Fiction. reservoir dogs and jackie brown.... silly me for thinking since he made 3 good movies the fouth will be good too.

2003-10-06 12:51:12 PM
Tarantino's ass-raped all of his films. Did anyone see the short "You're Not Fooling Anybody"? It shows how he essentially ripped "Reservoir Dogs" off of "City of Fire"

Feh.

(I will give him credit for the script of "True Romance"...)

lukelightning

That was a funny joke. Cuz if it wasn't you would be a jackass.

2003-10-06 12:53:19 PM
luklightning you are so farked.

2003-10-06 12:53:49 PM

'

If this is true, you are such a spoiler

2003-10-06 12:54:28 PM
Kill Bill...one movie slit in to 2, sort of like The Matrix sequals, only these won't suck donkey balls

2003-10-06 12:54:51 PM
lukelightning=wrong.

I think that this movie will be fantastic!

/IMO

2003-10-06 12:54:58 PM
Haha funny lukelightning

2003-10-06 12:57:04 PM
the script to the movie is online... the ending is that big a surprise.

2003-10-06 12:57:51 PM
wow, it amazes how many of think LukeLighting is "spoiling" the movie, get a life

2003-10-06 01:00:53 PM
>

Who cares if it's original? It was a good flick.

"Kill Bill" will be good, too.

PS: Lost In Translation is pretty good, saw that yesterday.

2003-10-06 01:05:29 PM
lukelightning

I think it's more complicated than that...
In the second part of the movie she comes back from the dead and has to eat human flesh to survive. She ends up finding out that not only is Bill her father but he is also a devil worshiping cult high priest that is raising an army of the dead to destroy the world. So she goes wild and starts smoking crack and her heart just gives out.. wow..

2003-10-06 01:08:31 PM
if lukelighting the attention whore is right, that would just suck, haven't they heard of "the sixth sense" and "the others" seems like every farking movie's going with the "all along they were..."

/rant

2003-10-06 01:08:50 PM
The movie has an anime portion, so this anime short isn't really so much of a marketing gimmick.

2003-10-06 01:11:00 PM
I know you are joking but be careful lukelightning or you'll go the way of your former incarnation luke_lightning.

2003-10-06 01:11:13 PM
Looking forward to the film; but I don't give a shiat about this.

2003-10-06 01:12:07 PM
So I guess making a joke on FARK counts as attentionwhoring?

if lukelighting the attention whore is right, that would just suck, haven't they heard of "the sixth sense" and "the others" seems like every farking movie's going with the "all along they were..."

2003-10-06 01:13:27 PM
Ah, Fark, where the disconnected and disaffected can come and bash all things popular.

Reading Fark for a real opinion is like your girlfriend (they do exist, farkers, and not just on the Internet)asking you which dress she should wear. You tell her the one you dislike is the one you like and she will wear the one you really like.

Yeah, these Fark postings are like that. You want to get people on here to like something, tell them they shouldn't.

This movie looks really great. Tarantino, while a hyperactive, spasmodic drunkard - is also a visionary filmmaker. I'd like to see someone on here invent a whole new genre of American film.

Oh, and to preempt all the baseless flaming: yeah yeah, you and your cousin saw some movie that was just like pulp fiction, but you can't remember the name blablablablablbabb. Whatever. Name it and let's discuss.

2003-10-06 01:14:12 PM
lukelightning made an obvious reference to Star Wars and The Sixth Sense. A lot of you aren't thinking enough.

2003-10-06 01:14:42 PM
bum bum bum bum bum bum bumbumbumbee bum bum bum bum bum bum bumbumbumbee bum bum bum bum bum ...

DUUUUUH DEEEEE dum bum bum bum bum bum

.... how can you NOT want to see it? I mean, just for Vivica and Lucy Liu it's worth the price of admission.

2003-10-06 01:16:09 PM

2003-10-06 01:12:07 PM lukelightning

So I guess making a joke on FARK counts as attentionwhoring?

It sure beats telling everyone how gay you are, again and again.

and again. and again.and again.and again.and again.

2003-10-06 01:16:20 PM
Just to clarify, you can't download the anime backstory, it's part of the movie.

2003-10-06 01:16:40 PM
I'm pretty sure the word anime means something along the lines of "animation"

2003-10-06 01:19:50 PM
Ok, I did really see it at a special screening. I thought it was excellent. And I got to meet Quentin Tarantino (by meet, of course, I mean I got to shake his hand and say "good movie" and that's it).

And no, she's not really a ghost and is not really Bill's daughter (at least, none of this is revealed in Vol 1).

/now I'm attentionwhoring.

p.s. Quentin Tarintino is, as a previous poster mentioned, a total spaz.

2003-10-06 01:22:43 PM
Sorry luke, it was a good joke, should have caught it.

2003-10-06 01:24:32 PM
lukelightning...
Damn you!! I was only going to watch this movie if it DID involve ghosts and surprise family connections. You lifted my spirits and then shot them down. I'm crying on the inside now.

2003-10-06 01:25:19 PM
I must say this movie does look pretty kick ass. I think the same guy who did the matrix/crouching tiger fighting choreography, I can't think of his name.

To everyone that complains about originality here. Almost all action movies rip off Akira Kurosawa. There is nothing new under the sun.
