Yes you can dislike Mitt without taking his religion into it, however he shouldn't just get a free ride on his religion. Even more because he took a deferment to go to France and be a missionary during the Vietnam war.
During that time LDS teachings included that black men were not allowed to hold the priesthood. Anyone who wasn't white was considered to have sinned in preexistence.
LDS also sees women as second class to men.
