That really is too bad about Cutler. I mean, don't get me wrong, fark Cutler and fark the Bears. But they're a pretty decent team and a solid playoffs contender. It's just not the right way to go down. I envisioned another Green Bay v. Chicago NFC Championship. The Bears dreams should be crushed at the hands of Aaron Rodgers and the Packers Offense, not by some broken thumb.

I'm up by 9, my opponent has 1 player left.

Tom Brady.

Woah, this got greenlit?

Cool. I didn't think it actually would!

Anyway, down 18 with Aaron Hernandez and Danny Woodhead(Yes, really) to play. Stupid Damian Williams killed me this week: 11 targets and you only haul in one catch for one point? Truly terrible.

It'd be nice if Andre Johnson or Darren McFadden could come back already...

/Yes, I am subby

I dunno, the Bears' D is pretty lights-out and a ball-control ground attack could still work vs. GB. Probably Chicago's best chance vs. the Packers would be to keep Rodgers and co. off the field for as long as possible -- even with Cutlerturd.

Assuming SF doesn't have something to say about the NFC Championship, of course.

At least Victor Cruz made up for Brandon Marshall being, apparently, the only Miami Dolphin not to register any measurable offensive statistics yesterday. I think I could've played one of their backup offensive lineman and got more points.

I just picked up Damian Williams because I was tired of watching him outperform Nate Washington....left 30 points on the bench between Washington and Pettigrew. Why must I mess with my line up? I always end up making things worse.

Consider: Brandon Marshall only got five more yards than you did.

I drafted him on Wednesday...and then started him since my other RBs were McCluster or Gore's backup for SF. Silent Bob can ball!

Don't feel too bad. I left 18 on the bench with Victor Cruz AND 16 on the bench with Cedric Benson.

/To be fair, who expected Benson to get 16 against the Ravens?

I farked myself over this week leaving Blount on the bench in favor of Morris. I've gotta go McCluster - 16 vs Brady, Gronkowski, and Pats DST

I'm debating whether I should drop Cutler and pick up a replacement QB for him or grab yet another WR/RB. I've already got Rodgers, but I'm worried they might not go undefeated and have nothing to play for in the last few weeks.

Cutler might be back in time for the playoffs. 6-8 weeks puts him coming back in the NFC Championship game, possibly.

Grab yet another WR/RB. If it looks like they'll sub out Rodgers, drop that WR/RB(Or the least effective one you have) for a QB.

Kinda crazy that so many teams with legit playoff chances got screwed (or likely to be) by the QB getting season-ending injuries.

Chi: Cutler
Hou: Schaub
Ind: Manning
KC: Cassel
Mia: Henne...kidding
Oak: Campbell

(Vick, Tarvaris Jackson, and Kolb have all missed time without a great change in the team record.)

What is going on this year?

Aaron Rodgers has done a great job totally hosing me, week to week. Either he throws for 5 TDs the game he plays me, or he throws for 5 TDs to everyone but my receivers when I just needed that 1 point.

Laughed so hard I farted!

So I'm locked up to win both my games this week which has been nice based on the lackluster performance my guys have put up lately. I'm in fourth in one, and 12th in other. They're much needed wins.

2011-11-21 04:40:10 PM
Caleb Hanie will grow another mustache and lead us to the Playoffs.

2011-11-21 04:40:27 PM
I started Kevin Smith (in both my leagues!) and Torrey Smith so I'm getting a kick...

/Pratty, I left Cedric on the bench too.
//Pats D and a 40 point lead oughta hold off Welker though

2011-11-21 04:41:31 PM
I just want to thank everyone who suggested I pick up Alex Smith as a bye week replacement for Brees this week. Not only did he work out, but a couple of other slouches I picked up had banner days and I swept both my opponents (well, one has Brady tonight, but she's not getting 75 points out of him).

2011-11-21 04:43:09 PM
The Bears are built to win with defense and special teams. Don't get me wrong, Cutler was having a pretty good season... but he's not the reason they're 7-3.

With 6 games left to go, mostly against so-so teams at this point, all they need to do is finish at a .500 clip to get 10 wins (and probably a ticket to the playoffs). I think that's pretty do-able.

I exchanged Cedric for Woodhead, so he better come through tonight, since Hernandez can hopefully cover some ground. 5-5 in my league with three to go and battling for one of the last cutoff spots, so I really need the win.

Should I get Kevin Smith, Toby Gerhard or someone like that? I don't trust MJD against the Houston D, McFadden might not be back and Benson is only one guy. Is Smith against IIRC the Packers D a good pickup?

2011-11-21 04:47:54 PM
Down by 4. I have Brady, Welker, and the Pats kicker going tonight.

Hello 9-2!!!

This STILL does not guarantee me a playoff spot yet. And if AP doesn't come back, I am truly farked.

As dirty as this feels, GO ROMO!!!! Just hope he can keep this resurgence up long enough for me to sneak into the playoffs. He and waiver wire sensation Jordy Nelson have been carrying my sorry arse with McFadden out and Chris Johnson being useless most weeks.

Can I vent for a second?

Fark Chris Johnson.
Fark Chris Johnson and his pathetic excuse for play, and fark the retarded Tennessee Titans organization for apparently never hearing of Jamal Anderson.

Chris Johnson should now be known as Loading Screen rather than Sonic the Hedgehog, as it's a more accurate video game parallel for how fast he runs.

Chris Johnson does stand out from most people. After all, most people would run faster after stealing more than $50 million.

srsly, fark that guy

He has quietly put up this staggering stat line in the past 3 weeks:

71% completion percentage, 841 yards, 8 TD 0 INT, QB Rating of 124.8

2011-11-21 04:58:18 PM
Pratty - hard to say about Smith. I mean he obviously had a huge day but then, even Chris Johnson looked good against the Carolina D. That said, Smith looks like he's closer to Best's talent level than either Morris or Williams, and Best was pretty good until his concussion. I'll be starting him, though - even if the Lions fall behind he gets work in the passing game, and the Packers aren't really a great run D either...

2011-11-21 05:00:04 PM
EyeballKid - yup, CJ is worthless. I had to package him with Welker and Roethlisberger just to move him for a worthwhile RB. Thankfully I had the WR depth to pull that off (though I'm a little worried about Gore moving forward...)

2011-11-21 05:01:11 PM
Hanie doesn't suck and I'm sure he can do a decent Dilfer impression against their upcoming schedule. The Bears'll be fine.

Droog8912: Kinda crazy that so many teams with legit playoff chances got screwed (or likely to be) by the QB getting season-ending injuries.

Chi: Cutler

They are not screwed at all. They have four easy games, one questionable game, and one game they were going to lose with Cutler anyway. Chicago's success has nothing to do with their QB. However will they overcome the loss of 13 TDs through 10 games? Juggernaut!

Neither is Houston, who will play: Jacksonville (sucks), Indianapolis (openly trying to lose), Carolina/Tennessee (look like they might not suck, but suck), and Atlanta/Cincy (will probably lose, but that still puts them easily in the playoffs, especially over their awful division).

I'll be starting him, though - even if the Lions fall behind he gets work in the passing game, and the Packers aren't really a great run D either...

The big reason I'm thinking that is my other RBs are:

McFadden - Possibly out. Obviously, a start if he isn't.
Benson - I don't trust him one iota, Browns/Bengals will be a tough fought game.
MJD - He's going to break eventully. I really wanna move him for someone, but nobody is buying
Danny Woodhead - LOL. Even if Philly's run D does suck...

So I figure Smith would be good insurance. I need to drop Schaub anyway.

Last week someone offered me Sproles & Blount for CJ. I asked Fark and Fark said CJ was turning a corner...I said, nope. Did the trade. CJ is Flacco. I had Flacco on one of my teams in 2009 and even though I never started him, he was a locker room cancer. My team lost 3 games in a row with him. I traded him and we never lost again. I feel the same way about CJ. Not only does he suck but he was diosruptive on my imaginary bench. Had to go.

Even if he did turn the corner, I like that trade.

Johnson actually didn't look too bad on the plays I saw but his O-Line sucked and, more importantly, Javon Ringer looked better. Really like Ringer.

/Why couldn't you get him, Bengals?
//Or Johnathon Stewart when he came out like I wanted you to?

2011-11-21 05:23:27 PM
GimpyNip: Pratty: Even if he did turn the corner, I like that trade.

The argument against Sproles/Blount was that Sproles is feast/famine & Blount is feast or injured. But, that's the fun thing about FF. Nobody would offer Sproles/Blount for CJ this week. Heck, they may not even offer Blount or Sproles let alone both for CJ

Sproles hasn't been that feast or famine. He's only had 4 games of less than 10 points this year and one of them was a 9 pointer.
