The Bears can still easily do 4-2 with Hanie at the helm, which is enough for them to get a wild card spot given that their record against the other WC contenders. They have three games left against the AFC West, then two home games against Seattle and the Vikings. Those games are all winnable without Cutler.

I'm going to be a...*gulp* Cowboys fan for the next couple of weeks.

I need the Cowboys to beat the Giants, as the Giants have a really difficult schedule the next couple of weeks (@NO, GB, @DAL).

Meanwhile, looking at the teams behind the Bears...the Falcons seem to have an easy schedule, with games against the Panthers and Jags.

Well, to be completely fair, that's Jay's "sucking thumb" that comforts him on the bench after he throws an interception, or after a call doesn't go his way. Without it, he gets frazzled and tends to play poorly. They have chosen to operate in order to get him back on track psychologically for the playoffs.

But the article I read did mention Bib Ben's thumb and how he isn't expected to miss any time.they threw in a blurb about "reports are Cutler's injury is worse". Since the Bears haven't even confirmed the injury at all, I'm assuming these "reports" are pulled out of body cavities or thin air.

This sucks so bad. Even though the o-line took a step back over the last two weeks, the Bears were playing some damn good football. Last week, special teams and defense won the game. This week, special teams and offense won it. Everyone was contributing, which pointed to good things going forward.

I was looking forward to the second game with the Packers. The Bears' D might be the Kryptonite for SupeRodgers, but the offense was going to have to score a lot of points. Now if the Bears win, they have to win ugly.
