Jumping on a bandwagon that ran out of steam 2+ years ago, with a celebrity whose only major activity recently has been vocally championing a number of far right wing causes, really doesn't seem to be some of the better work of their advertising department.

I think they do that to get around the auto-magical interweb spiders what peruse the nets for copyrighted material. Another such way that used to work was mirroring the video, but that has to be easy enough to adjust for, so I dunno if that still works.

I saw that commercial and immediately thought of that South Park episode where there was a problem with a WoW player who was so good, subscriptions to WoW were going down because nobody could defeat him

It appears someone took a camera to their monitor...
...that was displaying a JPG (as the address bars shows)
...that was of a frame of a video (there is a time bar on the bottom)
...that was a recorded from a TV (odd TV angle)

So yea. They took a photograph of a screen shot of a video that was filming a TV . That's just impressive

Who the fark thought or still thinks this is a good idea? The player base has aged - going on 8 years- yet they're shifting their idea of what their core demographic is, as insane as that sounds. If what I hear is true- that the average age of a gamer is mid-late 30's- then to put this weak new kiddie crap on an 8 year old title (especially when so much else could have been improved) and expect the average-aged and WoW-invested gamer to appreciate and eat it up is just rubbish. Like Star Wars did with the Binks, they're stupidly making a grasp at a younger audience and shiatting on their old faithfuls in the process. It didn't work with Binks and it won't work with this. I've left and so has everyone I knew that played. It's not because it's not fun, but it just feels like it's not about the player anymore, and why would we invest time in something that obviously is going to get really dumb and strange with the next expansion? Nobody in my experience is interested in the new race or the new class at all, and actually think they missed an opportunity to make some other really cool NPC races playable and have some non-goofy lore arcs. They've totally jumped the shark.
Everything WoW has done over the past couple years tells me they're not interested in retaining their core demo.. and so I've left.

The new star wars MMO is coming out soon. I'm beta testing it this weekend! Yay

Yeah I'm kind of butthurt about it. It used to be so cool. Ah well.
