An Obama at a NASCAR Sports Entertainment event is about as smart as wheeling Dick Cheney into the middle of an Occupy protest.

Funny, I thought the NASCAR fans would like them as they also turn to the left

Not everyone is a fan of what they represent. It was low class but that's life. I seem to recall Bush's daughters getting booed at function, but nobody made a big deal out of it.

Wow, I didn't know Michelle was an avid NASCAR fan. That's not usually the crowd she runs with.

Uh... Mods? You might want to fix that before it goes green.

FTA: Both the first lady and the vice president's wife were there to honor military troops and their families and to call attention to companies who have made commitments to hire and train veterans and military spouses.

They can boo her all they want, but their wives and kids will voting for her husband again in 2012.

Okay, you're fishing big time. I'll bite, is that the left's "silent majority"?

[citation needed]

I kind of doubt your claim. I don't know of any venue the Bush sisters, or President Bush, would risk going to where they'd be subject to anyone opposed to Republicans.

I recall President Bush would almost always make his speeches on military bases with walls of soldiers, airmen, etc. behind him. Military personnel can't dis their President under the UCMJ so you have the perfect audience.

GaryPDX: Okay, you're fishing big time. I'll bite, is that the left's "silent majority"?

No, the silent majority is the small segment of Americans that don't care about marriage or personhood amendments, protecting tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires, starting wars with Iran or North Korea, or which company got a government loan. They care about the heath and safety of their family, and having an opportunity to better their lives.

And by small segment I mean 60+% of the country.

Gary, you do realize that all those issues are currently polling above 50% in favor of liberals, right?

Thirteen more months of decay to go, we shall see. How you think 17-20% unemployment (U6) and 15 TRILLION (5 TRILLION in 4 years) in debt (with the same model collapsing in Europe) and NOTHING to show for it equates to a 60% landslide for Liberals is farcical.

We shall see.

Bad choice. Were the audience booing the Bush or Kerry daughters? Still no class on the audience's part, though.

Being as MTV's generally a liberal crowd, and conservatives were in power at the time, I'd say the Bushies are a fair bet. But the Bush twins just being there defeats your premise that they wouldn't risk going where there was no potential for opposition.

What do I win?

GaryPDX, US unemployment is getting better though slowly, as is our economy.

However, with the Supercommittee about to announce that it's failed, who knows what'll happen next. I will point out that the Democrats on the committee are saying the Republicans refuse to raise taxes on the rich. The Republicans on the committee are saying the Democrats won't cut Medicare and Social Security unless the Republicans agree to raise taxes on the rich.

I'm for raising taxes on the rich. In fact, I'm for letting the Bush tax cuts from 2003 expire because they were a bad idea in the first place (at the start of a second war, by the way). I completely support President Obama and the Democrats in seeking sacrifice from the wealthy if the poor and middle class are going to have to bite the bullet here and there. With only 0.01% of the US total population of over 315-million receiving over 50% of capital gains in our economy, they can contribute a lot more that the poor and elderly living on the edge.

Wait..I've got to ask...and this may be the wrong thread, since you ladies seem so riled at one another...what the fark is up with "ignore"? Are you so silly you can't just NOT respond to someone you disagree with? I mean, isn't that ignoring them? How does posting "I'm putting you on ignore!" change anything? You seeing someone's posting you disagree with distresses you so badly?

Lame.

GAT_00: cameroncrazy1984: Aha, but that's not what you quoted. But hey, continue to validate my characterization by refusing to explain why you'd rather biatch about it than do something that would mean you don't see it ever again.

You know, if you're trying to argue that you aren't sounding exactly like DIA, you're failing harder than Orly Taitz.

Eh? How is trying to get you to answer the question anything like DIA? You haven't even addressed the point. I quote users you deem as trolls because I enjoy playing with them. Why don't you check the box that says "ignore posts that quote ignored users"? At least I'm honest.

A couple of Internets, of course.

Again, you're assuming the MTV audience was booing the Bush daughters and the crowd is all liberal.

But, I'll grant you your two assumptions are more probable than not. However, perhaps the thought was the audience wouldn't react with boos, or possibly, the boos were hoped for so it could play into bonus points for the Bush 2004 campaign. Could just be another rallying point like the "homosexual agenda" or illegal immigrants.

Anyway, booing Laura Bush, her daughters, Michelle Obama, etc. isn't cool and shows no class. I save my boos for George W. Bush, Rep. Mo Brooks, Senators Sessions and Shelby, and so forth.
