No Mormons at the "debate"?

What did they cheer this time? 6 year olds working in factories? A woman dying because abortion was illegal and her baby had a medical condition that killed her? Palestinian children dying because an Israeli F-15 bombed an apartment building where a terrorist might be?

What absolutely retarded bullshiat happened last night?

Newt Gingrich ... acknowledged to the crowd of 3,000 gathered at the forum for Iowa social conservatives that there was "a great deal of pain that I had caused others" and said he was "collapsing" in the 1990s emotionally.

And he then collapsed into a blowjob from the woman he was cheating on his wife with.

Herman Cain ... welled up twice

"Why can't I molest anyone I want? This is so unfair!"

The next president of the United States will present to you tonight

LOL

2011-11-20 01:33:49 PM
Another emotional moment for Cain came when he described walking out of a surgeon's office when he'd been diagnosed with Stage 4 liver cancer and telling his wife, "Did you see the titties on that nurse? Dayum!"

Gingrich said of his days in Congress, "there was a part of me that was truly hollow."

Its called a "soul"

So, it was a bunch of assholes in a church, pandering to churchy types, oversharing and basically trying to look all compassionate.

Got it.

Good for Romney. This shiat won't play well in New Hampshire.

watching these idiots talking about morality and christian values turns my stomach. Cain is a serial sex offender and Gingrich is on marriage #3. NONE of them live a morally straight life.

they want to convince me that they're morally upstanding people, then quit politics, give all their cash to charity and join a monastary. until then, STFU about morality.

2011-11-20 02:08:27 PM
These events are giving me the church giggles. I know it's inappropriate to laugh, because it's serious business. I'm helpless, though, in the face of Newt Gingrich confessing that he may not have held himself to the highest of moral standards.

Newt Gingrich, who has been preemptively addressing his complicated personal life as he's shot up in the polls, acknowledged to the crowd of 3,000 gathered at the forum for Iowa social conservatives that there was "a great deal of pain that I had caused others" and said he was "collapsing" in the 1990s emotionally.

Well, that's one way of putting it.

Another way of putting it is you forced your dying wife to sign a divorce agreement so you could go run off with your floozie that you had been having an affair with.

2011-11-20 02:11:12 PM
And I, too, think Romney was smart to pass on this clusterfark. From what I'm seeing in the re-hash (don't have cable, didn't watch), this is going to do nothing good for any of them. Even with the churchy demographic.

WTF was the point of this, anyway? Am I missing something, or was it just to pander to Evangelicals by giving a spotlight to some preacher who thinks he's important and represents all of that truly demented form of Christianity?

I honestly have no idea. None of these candidates are exactly champions of moral virtue. they've all had plenty of well publicized moral lapses and there is little doubt that any of them have actually reformed themselves in any meaningful way. All this gathering did was reaffirm that the GOP loves its pet hypocrits.

They want a firm grip on the base in an effort to give Romney the shaft.

Santorum made the case that it is government's job at the federal level to push for values.

And these people profess to love the constitution.

Catholic by marriage. It's defensible because without someone satisfying "little Newt" he would be hitting on staffers -worse than Cain.

Republicans. Rule of thumb: people who complain most about government overreach want massive theocratic government overreach.

Santorum made the case that it is government's job at the federal level to push for values.

I had to go back through and read that again.

I wonder what the GOP would think about a muslim getting elected and pushing for THEIR religious values?

Or a wiccan?

Or an atheist?

Do you think Santorum would be ok with a godless heathen somehow getting into power and using government to push their values on the rest of us? somehow I think old Ricky would hit the gotdamn roof if a wiccan tried to teach his kids about pagan worship of the Old Gods.

By having umpteen 'debates' they thought it would be a good way to cram their ridiculous agenda on everyone. All it has done is multiplied the opportunities to expose these idiots for what they are.

what_now: Good for Romney. This shiat won't play well in New Hampshire.

The Republican party establishment in Iowa is giving him sh*t for not campaigning there. I say good for him! He knows he can't win in a state with such conservative primary voters. Why must everyone be so beholden to one small state. (same goes for New Hampshire actually. ;)

No, because they are theocrats and think their religion is the one that should be in power. At one point Santorum said that because Islam is a political system it shouldn't be tolerated and that America is secular because of its Christian heritage. Honestly, it didn't make any sense. The Islamists that are in power right now in Turkey are more secular than these people. No joke.

This won't matter in the general though--I have evidence from a reliable source that Obama fathered 2 children with a black woman.

This is less of a debate and more of a circle jerk of hypocrisy, with each candidate's balls bigger than the last.

You think they even consider non-Christians to be legitimate citizens that should have the right to vote or hold office?

Satanic_Hamster: You think they even consider non-Christians to be legitimate citizens that should have the right to vote or hold office?

the courts do though, and not even the GOP can ignore previous SCOTUS rulings. If it were that easy, they'd have simply outlawed abortion and homosexuality a decade ago. So if the GOP really wants to push the whole 'government as morality' thing, then f*ck it - lets found our own gotdamn religion and watch the authoritarians choke on their own words.

My religion will make cannabis a holy sacrament.

2011-11-20 05:13:48 PM
You'd think after so many months of this, they would have settled the argument of who hates abortion, gays, and Muslims the most by now.

Maybe that's why Romney wasn't invited, because he doesn't hate them enough. After all, he's a Mormon and not a Real, True Christian.

A lot of people say there is no common ground anymore, but there are still some thing we can all get behind and support, like your mother's aging titties.

Holy crap those thing were a health hazard while I was pile-driving her.
