What the fark can they say that they haven't already? We all know the GOP is for bombing Iran, eliminating SS/Medicare and banning abortion and homosexuality.

They haven't yet mentioned rounding up all college graduates and rendering them for bio-diesel or instituting re-education camps for people who like spicy mustard.

Another one? Man, the alcohol industry must be doing great! what are the ground rules for the drinking game? I'm just going to take a shot every time they open their mouths.

If it doesn't cause marks it's not torture, right?

Sounds like Romney made Vander Plaats plotz.

I really really wish they'd let a more liberal person formulate and ask the questions.
Then these debates would be less like a political grandstanding showcase.

2011-11-19 05:35:38 PM
I hope they don't talk about torture again, I think I have permanent hearing damage from the deafening silence of the establishment left that ensued last time.

/oh wait, I forgot that Obama said "you're wrong" to them

Not on CNN, FOX, MSNBC, or the C-SPANS. Is there finally burnout?

2011-11-19 05:37:57 PM
I seriously don't know why I watch these things. Every time I just end up slightly depressed and very afraid.

Freepers are already saying that the debates are a conspiracy against Herman Cain, so this will just feed into the GOP's persecution complex.

Nah, This is being hosted by a group who has these values (quoted from their site) If you'd like to help protect preborn babies, marriage as the union of a man and a woman and our most precious freedom, religious liberty.

So its more or less a fringe debate. Kinda why Romney didn't show up.

Don't worry, Romney will be the candidate. He might even win the election. That wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. After all, he's a liberal republican. There are worse things in the world than having a president who's a liberal republican. I can liver with a liberal republican. Things might even be better under a liberal republican.

I almost wonder if Romney and Huntsman didn't show up because they didn't feel the need to have their religion looked down upon for a few hours at a debate run by and for theocrats.

Jesus H. Christmas, how many Republican debates do there need to be?!? We're not even into primary season yet.

Do Republican voters really not have enough information to make up their minds yet? Do they even vote based on information?

Do the candidates even realize that all the debates accomplish at this point is to give Obama more material (out of their own mouths!) to use against them in the general campaign?

Doc Daneeka: Do the candidates even realize that all the debates accomplish at this point is to give Obama more material (out of their own mouths!) to use against them in the general campaign?

Obama and the DNC aren't even going to use any of it so they can "take the high ground". Problem for them is, the GOP has no interest in following them.

2011-11-19 05:46:23 PM
What is there even to "debate," let alone 5 or 6 times.

These 19th-century throwbacks have already got their (tiny) minds made up.

Obama's already said he may just show verbatim clips of the GOP debate in his ads. He might have been joking, but I think they're done trying to be nice.

Also a fair point but I'd still say it is because they don't want to be viewed as fringe as it would full on wreck them in a general election and while Huntsman has like 1% in the polls I've been saying for months that he is playing the long game of the 2016 elections and does not want this mark on his record.

Considering there is a different flavor of crazy on top each week I guess not. It isn't easy choosing between never-ending explosive diarrhea and ring worms with elephantitis..

I'm honestly not even sure if he was joking about showing the clips as they are. It would be a massive blow against them for the undecided vote. However this election will be a full on fight. I'd expect it to be a bit more mean version of Obama and Clinton during the primary.

Wow, I start the stream and head right into the Santourm, yuck. They also have a weird Thanksgiving table setting.

I just tuned into the debate and watched Perry lie about adoption to same sex couples in the State of Texas. Gay couples can adopt in his state. You would think he would know his own laws.

Really? At this rate, I'm not even sure my liver will make it all the way through the primaries.

coco ebert: Is it me or were there nowhere near this many debates in previous primary races? WTF is going on?

It's a numbers game. Somewhere in the many hours of derp there will be a usable soundbite or two they can fling at the Dems all next year.

coco ebert: Is it me or were there nowhere near this many debates in previous primary races? WTF is going on?

They realize many Republicans will watch the debates because they find everything coming out of these people's mouths as divine revelation, and many Democrats/Independents will watch to get a really good laugh. Win-win for everyone!

An alternate conspiracy theory that I would very much like to be true is:
FloydA: I assume that the DNC is paying for them.

Michele: "i want to get gasoline back to where where it was when Obama was elected $1.79 a gallon and we can do that!"

Yes, that was caused by a horrible economic collapse brought on by your conservative economic ideas. Of course you can get back to that again. All you have to do is destroy the economy again. You stupid c*nt.

Sanic123: Woh, Bachhman on judicial issues is scary.

I need to revise this statement. They are all farking nuts and saying things that would cause total riots if they did it.

Santorum: I can one-up Newt, watch!

2011-11-19 06:04:32 PM
Nice, Newt and Santorum want to eliminate entire Court Districts just because they disagree with some judges' rulings.

I also hate the MegaChurch setting. This has a very weird feeling to it.

2011-11-19 06:05:19 PM
Wait, did he just say for everyone to stay seated and they'll take a five minute break, only for everyone in the room to immediately get up?
