I concur about the Simpsons being #1, but Futurama should have made the top 10, IMHO.

I thought the intro to Star Trek: Enterprise was really good.

NO, NOT THE SONG.

But the montage of human development from the first sailing ships to the moon landing to the starship was very cool, IMO.

What, no A-Team? No Airwolf? No Knight Rider? No self respecting farker can accept this list.

/I like that True Blood intro though.

Batman (the Animated Series).
Animaniacs

And seriously, if "it perfectly sums up exactly what the show is going to be" is a qualifier, Land of the Lost (new window)

I think Lost had one of the most innovative ones. Short, sweet, to the point.

Wheres Dilberts opening...
Agree with Futurama needing to be there.
Heck, there are a ton of TV shows, Like the Twilight Show, Outerlimits and others on there, Including Star Trek.

I knew that one was derived from the opening of Dilbert. And its almost spot on to it. BUt still, I like the whole office scene in Dilberts opening.

The song drops it waaaaaaaaaaaaay out of that list. Would have been perfect if they had stuck with the orchestral theme of the other Star Trek series. It also probably wouldn't have generated as much hate from the fans.

Since it appears to be only shows currently on TV I'll go with Aqua Unit Patrol Squad and their take on 70's cop shows.

The CSI franchise has the best opening musiv

That was one reason I disliked Enterprise... I hated the changing of the opening scene. It felt like it wasnt Star Trek.

Came in to say this. And for haters of the song, remember that TOS hadn't happened yet, so the "real" them song probably hadn't been written.

Why isn't this a farking Cracked.com shiatbox link we have to hose ourselves down with benzine after we watch it?

Fark is the Deliverance of websites. You meet the mistakes of modern reality here. So make sure you have the worst sites like Cracked express their image.

That's why I was careful to clarify "not the song".The visuals were the best of any Trek series though. But no, I don't know WTF they were thinking when they chose that song. Or any non-orchestral song for that matter.

The Top 5 of that list never gets old. When I watch those shows on DVD (and for Game of Thrones, on my computer), I never skip the intro like I do with other shows.

Well, except with True Blood. Not that the intro is bad, I love the intro, but I hate the show. Stopped watching it a while ago.

And the Mirror Universe version of the Enterprise opening was pretty damn good as well.

The Walking Dead credits always reminds me, in a good way, of the fantastic opening credits for The 4400 (new window) (music by Amanda Abizaid).

'Math, science, history.

is one of the cooler lyrics out there.

That's the first time I've watched the Mad Men opening in its entirety and I don't like it. It starts off good then the guy's fall reverses to the tune of crappy dance music? Phleh.

Also, I thought it was inspired by Robert Longo.

For those complaining about the lack of an orchestral intro for Star Trek: Enterprise, they were going to use this:

But then they cut it in favour of the intro they ended up using. I don't want to know the drugs they must have been on.

That would have been a huge improvement on the opening credits, sadly it doesn't fix the crappy temporal cold war storylines. Still, after having recently rewatched the entire series, it's not as bad as people remember, but the series finale sucked dog balls.

Would've been better with Archer's Theme.

In case you mongoloids haven't figured it out yet, the intro list is only for current shows that are airing.

So you can stop bringing up whatever show that was cancelled 2 decades ago.

Since they regenerated the series, I've enjoyed the new Doctor Who intro, especially with its orchestration^.

Missing Fringe. Fringe also does a good job of mixing up the intros to fit the story.

There was the original Fringe intro, then they did an 80s Fringe intro, then they had intros for both universes, no there is the alternate timeline intro.

I would say one of the most original openings was the Enterprise Mirror Universe opening. Loved that episode. One of the top 10 in Star Trek canon in my opinion.

unlikely: Batman (the Animated Series).

SO. MUCH. THIS.

Without it tells me the writer doesn't know enough or is pandering to be cool.
The beginning told an entire story!
