(The New York Times) Asinine Iran mildly rebuked by UN agency. Not as powerful as a strongly worded letter, but more powerful than "Oh you mischievous scamp"   (nytimes.com) divider line 28
More: Asinine, un agency, Iran, Middle Eastern countries, twelve-step program, Leon E. Panetta, Yukiya Amano, Ali Asghar Soltanieh, nuclear proliferation

I'd prefer to invade Israel,(damn Stuxnet makers) as that would be quicker and cheaper than pissing off some more Muslims or whatever the people of Iran call themselves.

/You know who else liked to do genocidal things to peoples.

Oh you mean Iran has an active nuclear weapons program AND backs the Assad regime in Syria, a country now in a "Civil War"?

Your move, Obama administration...on my three kids lives...don't fark this up, Hillary.

Yes, let us all give thanks this Thanksgiving by worshiping our nation which spends trillions of dollars occupying and destroying countries whic pose zero threat to American citizens or our sovereignty, yet believes that taxing millionaires is immoral.

Well, if Iran truly IS working on nukes, maybe we should just let Israel do their thing.

And France.

Funny how the Russians and Chinese wouldn't go with us on the Iran sanctions, but would go with us on the Syrian "civil war" theme to weaken Assad (as long as we can get arms to the resistance in time via...other means). Quid pro quo, perhaps? Only question is what we had to give up to get their backing...hmm maybe lessening of the trade sanctions on the Chinese?

No politician has that kind of foresight.

If true, it could mean that while Russia and China may not go so far as to impose Iranian sanctions at the UN, they are willing to slap around a Iranian backed Assad regime. I guess that would be better than nothing.

Just ramblings on my part...only a few people know for sure what has gone down, and I am not one of them.

Man that fix a flat ass thing is awesome.

That joke's getting pretty farking tired. Why don't you go for the "glass parking lot" one next time, subby, that's so much more radical. Or maybe the classic "nuke it from orbit." You can enjoy your greenlight on the way to sign up for the armed forces.

What is out there that calls for more than a strong-worded letter?

TFA says "IAEA report showed evidence", but I've read the report, and there is no evidence. The report claims IAEA themselves were shown "evidence" by a "single member state", but I find this a bit hard to take seriously, especially since last time this single state showed "convincing evidence" of WMDs.

If anything, the report made it quite clear that while Iran seems to entertain the idea of assembling a collection of dual-use components, they have neither the fundamental knowledge, nor the practical ability to build even the simpler bomb materials and components.

So, why the fuss?

It's obviously the time for Obamaman to "build a consensus". That will show those ugly Persians!

Is Obama failsauce or what?

Even if Iran announces tomorrow that it magically has a nuclear weapon, SO FARKING WHAT? Do people actually think they'll be stupid enough to use it on Israel?

It'll never stop being hilarious that the only nation to ever actually use nukes on another country thinks it should police who can and cannot develop nuclear technology.

Of course not. That's what proxy terrorist organizations like Hizballah and Hamas are for.

Conspiracy theory blogs are a fun source of information when Israel is concerned.
Why not convert to Islam ? i'm sure it will have a calming effect on some more muslims.

If Iran developed a nuke, the nukes themselves would be worthless if they were not first tested. As soon as they were tested, we would know they have nukes, and probably know enough about the nukes themselves that if they ever ended up in the hands of a third party terrorists, we would know exactly who provided the nukes to those terrorists, and who to wipe off the face of the Earth if the third party terrorists used them in any capacity. You don't spend trillions developing a weapon just to give it away. The Iranian nukes, if ever developed, will be used to discourage invasion. Now, whether we want to allow Iran the ability to discourage invasion is another question.

You do if you are an islamic fundamentalist nutjob thinking that your actions will bring back the hidden Imam or other such nonsense.

probably, if we are living in a Hollywood movie.
