(Fark)   We have a battle of the undefeated at the Etihad, Arsenal and Man U facing newly promoted teams and best of all, not having to pretend to care about International friendlies. It's this week's EPL thread (bumped for Sunday games)   (fark.com) divider line 270

MICAH RICHARDS gets the second!
Lucky bounce into his chest, easy easy.

Evilsmurf: You just can't put your arm out like that. And I love the intimidating non-celebration by Mario.

as a goalkeeper, that was asinine.
arrgh, 2-0

Ouch. shiatty way to concede. In other news, Balotelli is a Douchebag. The one thing I like about hockey is the protect the goalie mentality. One of the Newcastle players should have stepped up and got in Mario's face.

And another one from Micah.

Condolences, toon fans

Micah! Bit of a collector's item to see a goal from Richards.

Tough way to end the half. We really were playing well. Hopefully we'll see two ameobi's on the field for the second half although I think this one may be a bit out of our reach.

JosephFinn: Bit of a football newbie, but that was a fair penalty on Taylor, right?

Absolutely a penalty. He can even count himself a little fortunate to not see a red card.

Apparently, I'm one of two people that absolutely loves Mario's intimidation celebrations. I have no love for City, but I'm definitely a fan of the hard men, so long as the don't go around leg breaking.

Are you suggesting the Ameobis will split?

wow 70-30 possession isn't AS lopsided as it has seemed it was.

2011-11-19 10:47:55 AM
70% city possession tells the whole story.

70-30 possession, Newcastle? Good luck getting a goal with that stat.

yes, you can't flap your arms about defending in the box, Taylor did block the shot, and a penalty must be rewarded.

Hey Unfreakable, are we going to have a MLS Cup thread, or are we just going to piggyback off of the EPL thread?

/I have a feeling I'll be the only one watching the game.

I'll be watching it. Wanna see Houston win another Cup.

Reminds that whomever the woman was on SportsCenter at about 12:30 this morning kept pronouncing it like Euston. Cracked me up for some reason, since I kept thinking of Euston station in London.

Hopefully, a bit more than they showed in the first.

Ever since Livepool opened the door for taking a win at the Brittania, Stoke have looked woeful at home. QPR are running riot.

2011-11-19 11:16:25 AM
Nice bit of play in Newcastle's goal area. Newcastle is a bit lucky to be only down 2.

AGGGGGGGHH

2011-11-19 11:18:34 AM
Now they are unlucky NOT to be down 1-2.

2011-11-19 11:20:02 AM
Ouch for Wigan. Playing at home against 10 men and gives up the equalizer.

2011-11-19 11:20:04 AM
This shows the difference Kompany makes. Two weeks ago City struggled to beat QPR without Kompany and this week they're playing a much better team and only allowing them a couple of quality chances.

JosephFinn: Chupacabra Sandwich: Ok Newcastle. Time to show what you're made of.

Hopefully, a bit more than they showed in the Boobies! I really think you're being a bit harsh on them. They're playing City, at the Etihad and have held them to only a couple of chances. They actually looked pretty damn good at the end of the first half despite the lack of possession. No one expected any points here and I'm actually pretty satisfied with how well they are playing. If we play like this against United and Chelsea I can definitely see us taking points.

2011-11-19 11:20:33 AM
Damn, Newcastle GK almost fighting for that ball.

2011-11-19 11:20:38 AM
Sergio almost wrapped it up there, great run, needed to shoot before the final jink.

Great bit of cheating by Blackburn.

Pedersen took a corner to himself.

Oh, I don't mean to be that down on them. They've been fighting hard against a very, very tough team and I was trying to be hopeful. :)

It's the filter. It filters out the word for the ordinal number for one, to stop idiots from putting low content posts at the beginning of threads. It also edits the date and time of a post if all it says is fir*st.

Newcastle is getting seriously lucky

The positional number 1 (you know, "1s" plus a letter "t") is auto-filtered to Boobies. There's a few more phrases that get filtered too.

For fark's sake. Newcastle can't catch a break today. Good effort though.

It's tomorrow, so you shouldn't see one for at least 24 hours, just wondering if someone had jumped the gun and put one in the pipeline.

And yet, it was only filtered in the quote, not in my original post. Weird.

That Stoke-QPR game is looking wild. 2-3 with plenty of time left.

2011-11-19 11:27:10 AM
It's crazy that a couple of inches here or there and this could be a 2-2 game. I love what I'm seeing out of NUFC today. Could've easily hung our heads and got blasted by City 6-0 but we're really showing that we're a good team. Even with a loss I don't think anyone could can question that we can compete with the big boys.

It's tomorrow.

I'll ask a better question:

Hey Unfreakable, if I submit an MLS Cup thread tomorrow, will you greenlight it?

Newcastle shooting themselves in the foot

No choice but to point to the spot there.

Damn straight. Being an American coming to the sport, I take a loss harder than I should.
