The Herald still thinks it's politically relevant. Neat.

2011-11-18 08:39:30 AM
What a fair and balanced report that was...

The only thing the Herald is fit for is keeping the homeless warm in the winter and lining bird cages with.

Ok. I lold.

Nice job subby.

She never said she supported OWS. She said she understood where they were coming from, and why the were so angry.

She also said she's been saying this- with less camping- for years.

Also, the Boston Herald should just put a naked lady on page three, and be done with it.

2011-11-18 09:03:58 AM
Back when I was in Boston, they'd give the Herald away for free around South Station, presumably to jack up their circulation numbers. It was still overpriced.

Occupy Harvard members were unwilling to criticize Warren yesterday.

Now that's shocking!

To be fair the Occupy Harvard wing of the #OWS movement is a bit of an oxymoron.

Code_Archeologist: To be fair the Occupy Harvard wing of the #OWS movement is a bit of an oxymoron.

Why? Something like 60% of Harvard students have financial aid. Part of that is because Harvard has the most generous aid packages in the country (if your parents make less than $60k you leave debt free- they'll throw in a grand or so a semester for beer money), but these kids? A lot of them are leaving school to find that the jobs are not there.

It is possible to be in the one percent and understand that a spiralling Gini coefficient, zero middle class wage growth and five years of stagnant GDP in the future are bad for the very rich in the long run too.

How sad is it that the fact she is a Professor is considered a negative by certain segments of this country?

I have literally had this exact conversation, face to face with someone who I have every reason to believe was serious. Poe's Law is rough.

(Restoring mid-1990s rates for income and capital gains = Double Sekrit Muslin Soshalism, that's why.)

And then sometimes when you forget that "safe search" is off, you see things that are burned in your brain and torment your dreams for the rest of your life. On balance, though, absolutely.

Of course she's going to try to distance herself from the movement now that it has turned violent, but I don't think the voters will let her off the hook that easy. The Occupy movement has demonstrated contempt for the law and for those who enforce the law. Voters don't appreciate politicians who encourage that kind of attitude.

Heh... I always live dangerously and do my image searches with safe search off... I've seen things. Unspeakable things.

Seriously, though, I think back to the way I used to have to do research (Hours at the public library looking at microfiche or wandering through the Reference stacks with a notebook full of Dewey Decimal System numbers) and wonder how I ever got any work done.

I see I'm a little late to the party on this one. Seeing as everyone agrees, I think a SFW pic is in order.

Yea? So? that's 60 million more taxpayers. Let's retro the taxes and the spending and go from there. Any extra will be a surplus.

How many countries did we invade in the mid 90s? How many veterans were we providing lifetime health care?

Its not the 90s. It will never be the 90s

If you want a surplus adopt the CPC's budget. Deficit is gone in 10 years, a surplus after that. Investment in infrastructure, education, and energy. It puts investment and job creation up front, while protecting the programs that many Americans rely upon for their economic well-being during a recession. A budget that could actually make America a powerhouse again. Which, apparently, is why it gets no coverage in the media.

Oh yea, we truly need 900 bases around the globe and a herds of Union flunkies sticking their hands in our crotches when we travel. We've expanded government 40% in just 5 years.

I'm sure all that is oh so necessary.

I 'have' noticed that the GOP really really doesn't like her.

Someone care to fill me in on why exactly? Besides her being a Liberal Democratic woman?
