So just go back where you came from and you'll remember again?

Why are your web browsing and fark submission computers in different rooms?

FTA: "Subjects in this leg of the study passed through several doorways, leading back to the room in which they started. The results showed no improvements in memory, suggesting that the act of passing through a doorway serves as a way the mind files away memories."

Going thru several doorways leading back (presumably in a circle) to the first room, is different than immediate returning to the previous room.
I'm surprised they did not study that variable. "Retracing one's steps" is a viable and oft successful method of remembering.

Exactly

Just walk back into the room you were in before you forgot and you will usually remember. Sometimes you need to start walking out again but mostly you will remember as soon as you walk in. Works more times than not!

The older you get the more you think about the "hereafter"....now what was I here after?...

doors are portals into another dimension...when you leave a room and re-enter it immediately, the people are not the same people...they are replicas only...duh! did you actually think that matter is persistent?? Welcome to the multi-verse...

Sometimes I really do wonder just how it is that we remember that we were going to do something, but we can't remember what that something was. Seems like the two things would go hand in hand. It's like a to do list that goes like "One, go to this location. Two, take this action," then the second item gets deleted while the first one remains.

I'm peeved. A few months ago I remember reading a webcomic on these lines that suggested that we forget what we were doing because our user deleted the action that we were about to take. I think that it was a Sims joke, but I can't remember who did it. Any help? :(
