Alright, it's a few hours until kickoff, and I need a QB to fill in on my fantasy team. Our league is in a tight race right now. Brees is my starting QB. I feel like picking up Tebow just for the hell of it. And because there aren't really many attractive FA options right now, and the back-up I had got hurt (Bradford), so I cut him loose. Any thoughts? Freeman is also an option against Green Bay. (Their pass defense is awful.)

Football Outsiders ranks the Jets as the #2 pass defense and the #5 rush defense in the NFL, after accounting for the quality of opponents, etc. This is a risky week to go Full Tebow.

Yes, the Patriots moved the ball well against the Jets, but the Patriots' offense has a few more weapons than the Broncos.

I'm in the same boat with Brees and Fitzpatrick(ugh). I'm actually thinking about picking up Sanchez for tonights game. I think the Jets are going to go apeshiat on Tebow tonight. They can play man to man with the receivers and send everyone else after Tebow. The only thing worries me is Jets may go up big and just run the ball. Sanchez is a shiatty QB but a decent fantasy QB in my point system and the broncos are a shiatty pass defense.

Mmmm... depends on who is available in your league. If Palmer is available the Vikings pass D is ranked pretty low in fantasy circles. Otherwise go with Freeman vs. the Pack. They will prob be down early and have to pass often vs. a Pack D that seems unwilling/unable to stop underneath routes. Could add up to 20+ points for you, beats nothing.

The Dolphins allow big points to QBs but Fitz's line is pretty beat up. Of that lot I'd say Fitzy or Freeman based on the Ds they are facing. Cutler and Smith will be handing off all day. Flacco is only good twice a year and I doubt one of those will come vs. the Cincy D. Dalton is simply out of the question now that schedule reality has come back to the Bengals. Plus Baltimore's D will be playing pretty angry this week.

For full disclosure, I am starting Romo over Palmer this week. The Deadskins suck and I want to see more improvement before letting Carson in the game. Really I don't see benching Tony again barring injury (sorry Di, had to be said).

Tebow would be an awful fantasy QB if all you got credit for on QBs was passing stats.

Fortunately... he is generally good for 2 rushing TDs a game, so, he is usually in the Top 8-10 scoring fantasy QBs every week.

Outside of the completion percentage, that's not really that bad against the Jets. Most of the top QBs in the league have had days that bad this year.
