Damn I was going to post that story. Gotta wonder exactly what chat room that came up in and who overheard it.

There have been at least three submissions about Gary Pinkel's DWI. None approved.

Look, I get it, Ped State is farked, but there's more going on in college football.

csb: my mom is a huge sun devil fan, is constantly on some sun devil board. she tells a story of april 2004, when someone claiming to be close to the Tillman family started a thread about Pat Tillman having been killed in combat.

everyone got mad at the guy and it turned into a huge flamewar....and then 1-2 days later it was announced on national news.

Well the article says key records from the Second Mile between 2000 and 2003 are missing. That is new to me. Not the least bit surprising, but new nonetheless.

personally, i think TFA title and actual content is more interesting than a random aside about internet chats

Report: Key files from Jerry Sandusky's charity are missing

Some key records from the charity founded by former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky are missing and investigators worry that this could limit their ability to get to the bottom of allegations that the assistant football coach engaged in sexual abuse of young boys over several years

I'd be curious to learn more about how this happened beyond "somebody said something on the Internet and next thing you know, investigators were interviewing Mike McQueary in a parking lot." The original article by Jo Becker doesn't have much more detail than that either.

From the description of the size of his ignore list...it looks like he is ignoring people that attack Tebow and PSU. I'm pretty sure you couldn't get to three digits by ignoring those that defend both.

The newspaper says Lynne Abraham, a lawyer for Second Mile, did not return a call requesting comment and a spokesman for the state's attorney general declined to comment.

Is this the same Lynne Abraham who was the DA in Philadelphia for about 10 years?

I agree, but there are some nutjobs on this site. And they aren't being intentional nutjobs for the attention.

Several years ago, I knew of a guy that had hundreds (if not thousands) of people on his ignore list. If you said anything at all that he disagreed with, you'd get locked away forever.

I always wanted to ask him what it was like to read Fark with every thread a partial conversation missing dozens of posts and impossible to read.

Dead on. While a new development, this is the least surprisingly thing to emerge from the Pedo State scandal. This school is a master of legal deception.

I guess Fark was his personal erotica validation site.

There's plenty of people on here that I may think to be "wrong" politically but like them in the sports threads or something, so ignoring them outright would be silly. Those that just seem to be obnoxious assholes all the time can liven up an otherwise crap thread, so even they can serve a purpose.

StreetlightInTheGhetto: but yeah. she says the Pat Tillman thing was on the board (and obviously accurate) for a day or so before it was officially announced.

great book.

i never saw Pat play in college (i was in the navy on the east coast during his Sun Devil years) but i saw him play many times for the Cards....it was always different when "Tilly" made a play in that stadium. The cheers were louder whenever he did something.

i was the game in 2004 when the team retired his jersey. Patriots were in town (ironic? you make the call.) Marie Tillman's first public appearance as I recall. I admit, I cried like a baby when they unfurled a huge "40" jersey in teh east stands.

and every time I go to UofP stadium, I always make sure to visit the Pat statue.

one of the shiattier weeks in my life. My first dog got HBC on Sunday, we buried him that night. I think Thursday, perhaps Friday, is when Pat's death was announced. ugh.

oh, just this past april at the annual "Pat's Run", I saw her. it was well after the race had ended, and most everyone had left, and me and my family were milling around.....she was walking by me and we kinda almost bumped. and I instantly recognized her. I whispered to my wife, "that's Marie Tillman!" my wife was like "no way, really?" I thought about going up and meeting her but i figured, just let her go.

she was with former D-Back Eric Byrnes. I still don't know if they were, you know, "together" or just together.

That's one of, at least, 8 victims. Sandusky isn't going to have all of his victims stand up and say nothing happened.

News conference will be at 4 PM CDT today. Pinkel has already issued an apology, basically calling himself an idiot. Guy's not a chronic drunk and may have just tried some new drinks.

That being said, if Alden were to fire him in light of those facts, it'd confirm most Mizzou fans' suspicion that he's the biggest idiot in college sports west of the Mississippi River.
