I was hoping to see naked African chicks with their breasts flopping around, subby. I'm at the hospital using their wifi and "certain" websites are blocked.

First of all, I would not be standing that close to a tree full of spiders.

B: That portrait of the Bonobo is mesmerizing

And III: That's one damn big shark.

That little hummingbird has a lot of fire in its heart for how small it is.

This summer, one of them would harass my wife when she was working in the front yard. We have a lot of flowers, many specifically planted to attract hummingbirds. This one would fly about 20-30ft up, and then dive bomb you, stop right in front of your face, then make a loud pop or crack at you.

i read that as "make a large poop at you", which is not very cute at all.

When the bugs carry all kinds of nasty diseases and the floods carried away your best shelter from them, that's probably more of a blessing than it sounds :)

Would tend to disagree with this statement.

Hummingbirds are territorial little things. Mr. Witch and I have witnessed many an epic battle between hummingbirds over the feeders we have out.

We had one little guy that was terribly curious about us and what went on in our house. He never came in but he would hover in front of the windows, checking things out.

We named him Squeaky.

That would be a male Anna's, from the sounds of it, actually. They have a courtship display that involves sharp dives and loud chirps like you describe.

So in other words, that one was hitting on your woman.

Its a lenticular cloud. These types of clouds are formed when terrain, such as the large hill in the background, forces air to rise until it is saturated, forming the cloud. The air then flows downward as it clears the hill, warming as it sinks, evaporating the formed cloud. The air that the cloud formed in is particularly stable, preventing convection (what causes those puffy looking clouds) and causing the horizontal, layered appearance of the cloud.

/its actually a bit more complicated, but that's the basic principles
//Atmospheric Sciences FTW

I figured one of the Fark Met-heads would explain it better than I could.
On the list of the most common things people mistake for UFOs, lenticular clouds are at the top of the list along with Venus and weather balloons.
Still a great picture.

My favorite is the bonobo. They're so human-like it's scary. I guess that's the reason they're now classified as hominids.

/still debate that
//hominids are neanderthals and homo erectus, not chimpanzees
///will fight it to my grave
////great apes should be hominOIDs
//slashy slashy
