They have security guards at Aldi? If you have to hire security guards to protect your off-brand granola bars then you are in the wrong neighborhood.

Our local Foodland sometimes has a security guard, I have no idea why. He's usually hanging out around the meats. Perhaps people have been stuffing ground beef down their pants?

If there were a god.. he'd bring back to life the dead security guard for the life of the criminal scum. If I were a god, that's what I'd do anyhow.

I'm going to guess that in a neighborhood like that, that guard having a legit job is just one of the few trying to do the right thing, too bad he had to die. Anytime I'm in a less-than-desirable neighborhood and I see that one kid that is trying to have a legit income and possibly (just a guess) do something with his or her life while their peers are out running the streets, I hope that kid makes it out.

That's a bad neighborhood when the grocery store needs security guards.

Wait a minute! I thought Chicago's strict gun laws would make things safer and keep guns out of criminals' hands.

I was actually stopped by an aldi security guard. i walked in the store they had super a super long line and only one register open and people in the aisles doing stocking so you could barely get around. i walked back out. the security guard asked to see in my bag and was very rude outside the store. I let him and then told him i would be calling corporate.

I found out later they aren't allowed to do this unless they see you take something which obviously he didn't. Supposedly he received job counselling. Quite honestly i would have just stayed there and called the cops and let them deal with it but my husband had to go to work.

He couldn't have shot the security guard. Guns are illegal in Chicago, therefore it's perfectly safe.

On the contrary. Trader Joe's is the Aldi's of the 1%.

moanerific: Wait a minute! I thought Chicago's strict gun laws would make things safer and keep guns out of criminals' hands.

Laws are like locks, they keep the honest people honest. It would have been so much cooler if everyone in the store was packing and 3 or 4 more people would have been killed in the ensuing battle over $83 dollars of insured money.

I'm not anti-gun but I'm really sick of all the absolute stupid comments people make to insist that they need a concealed carry permit to defend themselves while doing the normal crap they do everyday.

I still say that we don't need gun ownership. The 2cd Amendment was because we needed an armed citizen to stand against the British, because the Colonial Armies were spread too thin, as it was

It served it's purpose, but in today's society, guns do more killing than protecting and it's time America realized that.

That's OK, he found a large cardboard box in the prison cell and the body bag isn't necessary.

One armed citizen with 2 CDs? I'd say a single man would need at least 4 or 5 to get the job done right.

Well, you can buy one of the eco-bags for $1, but the plastic bags are only 10 cents. And they have nice sturdy handles, which are important for hauling your body out to the car.

The paper bags are only 5 cents, but the bottoms blow out really easily. Leading to bodies rolling across the parking lot, which can be awkward.
