maybe that accent was black 20+ years ago, but enough white n privileged kids like me have grown up with it, making it the inner-dialogue in our heads whether we speak that way or not, that you definitely can't call it ghetto anymore.

i certainly relate to it a lot more than the chipper infomercial-salesperson, or morning-person tv-anchor accents.

imagine if someone walked up to you and talked face to face like most the overly-cheery accents used in commercials. you'd want to slap them.
