Welcome to Farktography!

This Week's Theme: "You Can't Fight City Hall"

Description
: Photos of government buildings; including but not limited to City Hall, State Capitol, National Capitol, Department buildings, Fire Department, Sewer and Water, whatever... as long as it's owned by a government or has some government purpose.

We ask that before submitting your photos you read and adhere to the following submission rules, including but not limited to the following:

- Submissions must be photographs; screen captures do not count as photographs.
- You must be the original photographer of your entry. Do not submit anyone else's photography as your own.
- You are only allowed to enter a photograph once. Do not submit the same photo to another contest later.
- You may enter 3 photos in each contest as long as each photo is of a different composition.
- Please post each photo separately so they can be voted for individually.

Please note:

The overarching ideal behind Farktography is that image corrections are acceptable, while adding or removing elements in the image (e.g. removing telephone poles, adding Elvis) is not acceptable. HDR, stitching, or otherwise combining exposures in post processing are not allowed unless specified for a particular theme (multiple exposures done in-camera are acceptable, however). See the rules for more information on acceptable modifications, or check in at the Farktography Forums.

Legal: All photographers submitting photos to this contest are the legal copyright holders for the photos submitted and the photos are not to be considered free for any other use without written consent from the submitting photographers.

- Drop by the Farktography discussion on Fark or our dedicated Farktography Forum (for chatting, critique, techtalk and so on)
- Stats can be found here.
- Image hosting sites can be found here.

This is the Superior Court building in downtown Phoenix,
where our 'toughest sheriff in America", Arpaio reigns.
All them boxes are where the detainees are kept before
seing sentenced. I think the wires are just for lighting;
the actual waterboarding occurs elsewhere.

I keed! I keed! The do the waterboarding here, of course!

//No but seriously this is looking up the building. I have no idea what's with all the wires;
they weren't there when I took the picture (well..I didn't see them).

The 'new' city hall building in Phoenix. The old one has Occupiers all over it.
They were not particularly photogenic protestors.

Indianapolis was not always Indiana's state capitol; until 1826, the state capitol was Corydon. This was the original capitol building there, constructed with 2.5 foot thick walls of Indiana limestone.
