Some conservatives in Congress have called the push for healthier foods an overreach, saying the government shouldn't be telling children what to eat.

Exactly. Children should do whatever they want because freedom reigns, or some such bullsh*t.

Gummi Bears are also an integral part of a balanced diet. You f*cking idiots.

I say Congress should have the same health care as the rest of us and the same lunches that school kids eat, while living in section 8 housing.

They aren't better than anyone else, and need to know it.

Hey, if Laura Bush had been pushing for healthier school lunches, we would have had the No Child's Nutrition Left Behind act passed within days.

But, since you know who's wife is the one who has made childhood nutrition her pet cause, the Republicans would rather children eat lead paint chips and lye before agreeing to back something an Obama approved of.

So, fill us in, genius: what happens during the process of turning tomatoes into tomato paste that makes it something other than a vegetable product? And what does it become?

Does the same thing happen to other vegetables when processed and cooked? As in, do vegetable soups not count as vegetable products either? How about vegetables added to casseroles? Or vegetarian "burger" patties? It's all basically the same process, give or take a bit of water and some pulping.

And at what point in this magical process did the tomato, which is a fruit, become a vegetable? Was it when it was turned into paste?

Holy shiat, you are right... and of course it was a tax issue.

from Wiki "Nix v. Hedden, 149 U.S. 304 (1893),[1] was a decision by the Supreme Court of the United States that affirmed the lower court ruling that the tomato should be classified under customs regulations as a vegetable rather than a fruit. The Court's unanimous opinion held that the Tariff Act of 1883 used the ordinary meaning of the words "fruit" and "vegetable," under which a tomato is classified as a vegetable, instead of the technical botanical meaning."

I had never heard that before, and I think the ruling is bullshiat. But, you are right.

most people are busy with their own life & assume others will conduct themselves appropriately without being watched like school children.
our clowns of WashDC aren't just prone to human nature, they of wealth & power flaunt about like rock star diva pro sport celebrities on bacon.
heads on pikes, streets red with blood and horrified suits in cages on display - this will give them incentive to get their collective shiat together.

people need to remember these arseclowns only have the power we allow them to have.
