I don't mind the style, but it looks too tall.

I was thinking a late model Mustang with a '90s Camaro.

I'm sure people who drive their shoes to the bus stop will hate it.

With the success of the "new retro" cars like the Camaro and Challenger, I was hoping for something that looked a little more like this:

Why do you all hate America?

In all seriousness, though... doesn't look too different from the one they make now.

I think it looks nice.

Why pick one of the ugliest iterations? The '70's 'Vettes are just ugly. If you're going to reminisce and go retro, 54-63 were the good years.

That's the most angles on a piece of shiat I've ever seen. Maybe it's corn.

Very airplane wing'ish. I wonder what happens if you push it over 100.

2011-11-15 10:44:53 PM
Because all drawings and prototype vehicles are released EXACTLY how they are initially displayed.

It doesn't look bad, I can't afford one anyway so it ain't my biatch.

Could have a functional rear diffuser a la an F430, along with some other aero tricks.

I don't think I could push it that fast -- by myself, anyway.

It looks like a GTR humped a Corvette, and was slapped on the ass by a modern day Camaro. Fugly. And I say this as a 2008 Z06 owner.

i'm watching the old route 66 tv show right now. ditto on if you are going to go classic retro use the early years.

AcneVulgaris: Cool looking, but not very corvetty.

Pretty much my thoughts. It does'nt look too hideous (not that I'[m a car person) but it really, really doesn't scream "corvette"

2011-11-15 10:53:16 PM
Looks good to me. The deciding factor will be "can I fit", or will someone actually build a fuel efficient car that is made for tall people before 2014.

The current iteration Vette is just to short for me. My head hits the ceiling in all but a reclining position. I hurt my neck just trying to get into a 2011 Vette.

This seems to be an issue for all the new cars I have sat in lately. It's like the car industries engineers were replaced with pygmies.

That's because it's the ZR-1 model, dweebe.

And that's not a Corvette, you America-hating, acid-tripping, twink-screwing communist.

V-8 front-mounted engine, rear-wheel drive, composite body panels. Otherwise... it's no Corvette.

Zora himself played around with mid-engined Corvette concept vehicles.

First two years of production don't count. Sure, they are Corvettes, but it's been one way ever since.

And he might have played with it, but he knew better than to do that.

It's front-engined, no matter how close they put the engine to the windshield.

Exactly as I expected, and not totally unexpected since GM sources said that the C7 would be an evolution of the current Corvette.

Looks like it tried to mate with a GT-R.

You didn't read the words right.

If you take them at their word, this is not a prediction. Jalopnik claims to have seen, in person, production-ready C7 Corvettes. Rather than taking pictures and potentially getting whoever it was who smuggled them in to see the cars fired, they took their designer with them so they could recreate the car as an illustration.

GM issued a weak denial on their Facebook page, and a couple GM employees online are rumored to have commented that someone will likely get fired over the leak, but otherwise there's no way to tell who is telling the truth.

The design looks reasonable, and is within Chevy's body language. The C7 was supposed to be evolutionary, which this certainly is. Plus, it looks significantly better than the "Corvette Prototype" garbage they put in the Transformers movies. It's angular, it muscular... I like it.

I love it.

I'm also Corvette bias.
