Guy Fieri is a hack. He's not even Italian! His actual name is Guy Ferry, which he changed to Fieri because I guess he thought it lacked some sort of ethnic flavor.

Coolio's actually a decent cook.

I mean, he's not going to win any Michelin stars, but he's not terrible.

So he's probably the best out of the five.

I forgot that I knew the guy from college until one of my friends reminded me that I did when I saw her in Vegas. I actually made fun of him for pronouncing his name "FEE-eh-TEE" instead of Ferry. I did recall he told me that it was a family name. I had an uncle whose last name was Ferry, so that's what jogged my memory. (cools story 'bro)

Fan of Food Network Humor (new window), I take it?

As to the "celebrities": Summer Sanders, now that's a name I haven't heard in a while. I remember her as the host of Figure It Out back when I was watching Nickelodeon. 12 years ago.

I wish these hack, douche, awful chefs would get mangled in an explosion.

Summer Sanders can ... oh, wait, cook.

Why does every female chef on the Food Network sound like they have throat cancer?

I had to sit though a couple of Rachael Ray's "$40 a Day" shows where she makes a big deal about eating her way through all these different cities for under $40. Her secret? She tips like she's a resident of del Boca Vista at the early bird.

'Cooking' is the most misleading word in that title.

I have his cookbook. It's alright. It's missing the flair he threw into his online shows.

And she a-la-cartes one pancake and a cup of coffee for breakfast, half a sandwich for lunch, and a half order of something for dinner.

The shtick is rather heavy but her cooking skills and presentation are pretty decent. I'm having trouble placing her accent; is she Russian, Italian, or Brooklynese? Make up your mind girl.

Not sure, but I do enjoy the recipes she makes. Pretty interesting flavor combinations. Helps that she's drop dead gorgeous too. :D

Yay I'm pretty pumped. I hope Coolie raps his hit song Fantastic Voyage or that song about spending most our lives in something. Summer Sanders is pretty cute, I enjoy her on "Figure it out". Taylor Dayne is hot in Nightman, I love that show. Those 2 chef's I have no idea who they are, but I can guess tha....

What? It's not 1997, but I was pumped about this show.

The show will air in the year 2012!

That's crazy, will there be a floating car? Also people will be able to have tricorders now to communicate and take pictures? Also will they be big time celebrities at this point to validate a quality cooking show on New Years Day?

No? Count me out.

Seriously, though, if Food Network did this just to have an excuse to get both Rachael Ray and Guy Fieri killed in the same plane crash, it would warm my friggin' heart. I despise both of them.

I think she's going for Brooklyn hipster, and upon reflection her affected manner is
what ultimately turns me off.

The 'Brooklyn Hipster' thing is rather odd given that its a Canadian show.

I think you mean Sandra Lee. I don't need directions to open a can of fruit cocktail.

BTW, where is Dave Lieberman? And what's with Tyler Florence and those stupid trucks? He should do more cooking with his shirt off. Damn, I could write some slashfic just watching Tyler's Ultimate.

/The plot of the slashfic would have Jamie Oliver coming over to help him cook

I adore slash, but I would chide you for doing real-person slash because I've always felt it crossed a line. However, I am nearing the end of a huge, real-person slash novel so I won't be a hypocrite.

/one of the protagonists said he thinks slashing him is fine
//takes comfort in that
