Well played, Ritchie.

She won an Emmy for Glee. Sure, the show may have been struggling lately to find a new direction for her character, but she still has a freaking Emmy.

Like every closeted lesbian in the 1970s, I had a crush on Ron Howard. It's the truth.

So what you're saying is that you chose to follow your sapphic tendencies and reject your natural tendencies? Interesting......

Jane Lynch is very talented, but the writers have crapped all over that character to the point of no return. She's always a grace note when she shows up in Two-and-a-Half Men, but Glee, which is fast becoming unwatchable, suffers when her character shows up.

It's a shame. The show started out as an edgy, satirical take on high school. Now, it's primarily interested in selling iTunes with characters that have long worn out their welcome. I blame Ryan Murphy. He has his head so far up his ass, he's drowned out the legitimate complaints that fans have had about the show. He's like the George Lucas of TV.

You whiny bastard. Why should she "STFU about it now"? Just to make you comfortable?

If she was straight and was talking about a woman she found attractive, you wouldn't have anything to say about it, would you? If she was straight and talked about a male co-star she thought was sexy, you wouldn't have anything to say about it, would you? If she was straight and talked about how much she loved her husband or boyfriend in yet another fluff interview of no substance like 99% of all Hollywood articles, you wouldn't have anything to say about it, would you?

But because she's gay and talks about it frequently, it gets your undies in a bunch and you making demands so you can pretend she isn't gay. Should Samuel L. Jackson not talk about being a Black man in America today? Should Jerry Seinfeld not talk about the fact that he's Jewish? Even if everything they ever said in the media was about their respective race and religion, so f*cking what? Who cares? It's who they are and if they want to talk about it and focus on it like Jane Lynch does to a degree about her being gay, why do you feel the need to comment?

I think we both know why. You'd like to pretend you're tolerant and just don't like attention whoring, but let's face it: you're uncomfortable with it so you lash out against it. That's kinda like ... what's the word I'm looking for .... begins with a "B" .....

Grow up. Move on or shut up. Most people, including this straight guy, are sick of whining like this by people like you.

2) no, i have no problem with her or anyone being gay. but a shtick is still a schtick. when a mexican comic's entire act is "white people are like this, but mexcians are like this", that's also played as shiat. (Let me guess, i hate mexicans now, right?)

Beg to differ Mr. Penguin about the "U Mad" jpeg. If your gonna use a tired internet meme, I think that one should apply to the guy who was the Weeners a whiny pile of hyperbole about someone "shouting from the mountain tops" about something you don't like. I would suggest that is the epitome of "U Mad".

Second, fine, perhaps you aren't exactly a bigot, but when your first thought is to post essentially "Man, I sure get steamed when Jane Lynch reminds us she's gay!", you come across as someone who can't deal with it and pretty intolerant even if you try to soften it with "I get it, let's move on". Again, I ask why should Jane Lynch? Why should she not talk about her sexuality? It's her life and until just a few years ago, she was not openly gay.

The thing I'd like to point out is that even in this modern age, being gay still isn't a 100% comfortable and prejudice-proof life to be living. And Jane lynch isn't some 20 year old starlet who is enjoying new found freedoms on the homosexuality front. She is a woman who most certainly lived through a very restrictive, unforgiving and probably downright horrible time to be gay. She had to hide who she was for a large point of her life. If she wants to enjoy the less restrictive world we live in today to the maximum, screw it, let's let her. Let every interview about her be her talking about how gay she is. In the long run, so what? Good for her. In my mind, she's earned it and should enjoy being the one who is confortable for a change instead of people on the internet who would rather she just "STFU", as you put it.

How about "no". How about YOU "STFU" for a bit and let Jane Lynch enjoy some freedoms for awhile. You can wait a bit.

Oh, and comparing her talking about being gay as being her "schtick" .... well, you and I will have to disagree on that point. She isn't a comic who's only bit is "You know the difference between gays and straight?" like a hack comic who only does racially humor, she's an actress. She plays gay characters, she plays straight characters ... and when she is interviewed about herself, she talks about being gay at times. That's her right. Her being gay isn't "played, it's her life, not a schtick. Talking about being gay may get tiresome to people who just don't want to hear it like you evidently, but it isn't her act onstage.

If you truly are tolerant, you might want to choose your words and arguments more carefully. Because it really doesn't sound to me that you're all that tolerant by what you're posting tonight.

And walking onstage to greet Lynch, the Apollo 13 director handed his number one fan a bouquet of red roses and joked, "I hope our wives will understand. I needed to make a romantic gesture. I don't entirely understand the function I served in your life, but I'm glad if I did."

I already liked Ron Howard, but now I like him a little more.

Here's a challenge for you. Try and go through even a single day without making any mention of your heterosexuality. That means you can't talk about your wife/girlfriend, you can't talk about who you think is hot, can't talk about your kids if you have any, can't join in with your buddies talking about trying to find a date, etc. Oh, and if you're married, ditch the wedding ring, that's giving people information about your orientation. Also, sanitize your workspace of anything that could give a hint as to your orientation. On top of that, you're going to have to practice avoiding mentioning anything that could give clues as to your sexuality, even when asked directly. That means you'll have to play the pronoun game and avoid using any gendered pronouns, and if you're asked questions directly relating to your orientation you'll have to figure out ways to dodge them.

Unless you're forever alone and spend all your time playing video games and no time even looking at people of the opposite sex, you're going to find that it's well nigh impossible to go through even one day without flaunting your heterosexuality.

i should really just stop and let it go, but....short of me blwoing someone to prove how "ok" i am with gay folks....i have one gay person in my extended family, and it means absolutely nothing to me. and he's probably older than jane lynch so i can get what you're saying about "having to live her entire life as a secret" and so on.

I have MANY black friends ....

the only thing i can compare it to is once again, when a standup comic has a shtick. richard lewis for example. we get it, you're neurotic and constantly in your own head. can you stop reminding us already? or GET ERRR DUNNNN! or the female comic whose entire act is "my mom won't stop bugging me about getting married".

And again, I missed the part where Jane Lynch was a stand-up comic who's catch phrase was "What can I say, I sleep with girls!" You are comparing her talking about her life in interviews with Richard Lewis's neurotic comedy routine that he built his whole career off of. That's kind of what they call a false analogy. And you are actually saying "can you stop reminding us"! Those are your words, and any reasonable person would take that to mean you can't handle it and it makes you uncomfortable. So again, if you truly don't give a sh*t as you are trying so hard to convince the internet, you wouldn't give a flying crap if an actress or actor talked about how they were gay in their real lives in interviews. But here you are, asking them to "stop reminding you".

it's shticky, it is hacky, we already know, and now, it is just repetitive and annoying.

Hey, if she was "Jane Lynch, the Lesbian Stand Up Comic" who only does that bit about rug munching, I'd be on your side. I hate hacky schtick, but you can't compare her real life with a stand up routine. It isn't hacky that she talks about being gay when being asked about her life, because she's, y'know, gay.

My whole point is you came out all pissy about hearing Jane Lynch was gay again, and that a lot of people are just tired as sh*t of hearing people like you b*tch about people just talking about who they are and that they should hide it for you so you don't feel uncomfortable. Screw that. Grow a pair and either skip the interview or lay off posting how they should just "STFU", lest you have anonymous guys like me on the internet suggest that you're acting like a bigot. If you aren't, you let it go.

See, this is a favorite argument people who are trying to act tolerant love to use. "I don't want to know about anybody's sex life" .... well guess what, genius, "sexual orientation" isn't the same as "sex life". She isn't talking about the specific acts of lesbian sex, she's talking about a crush. Would you be such a defiant militant prick if it was Mila Kunis talking about finding some male costar hot? Should she "leave you alone"? Or would her comments not even register with you for a milisecond because she's a hot chick talking about a heterosexual crush? I'm gonna guess "no". Because her comments would fit in with your own personal status quo. But because it's someone who's life you sound like you don't approve of and are uncomfortable with, you get to be all tough and tell them to "shut the f*ck up about it and leave you alone".

Should a heterosexual married couple not ever acknowledge their relationship in an interview, lest they upset the SnakeMan, too? Can no one straight talk about who they are dating or someone they are attracted to? Of course, that sh*t would be fine with you, and in fact you'd probably never even notice or comment on it, because it's your status quo. But someone gay? They better keep that sh*t down, or else the SnakeMan's of the world will b*tch about it being all in their face!

Heavens, I do hope you'll survive!

- (Laurie) Terry and I worship an unconventional deity. The power of another dimension. Now you are not going to read about this dimension in a book or a magazine because it exists nowhere... but in my own mind. Through our ceremonies and rituals we have witnessed the awesome and vibratory power... of color.

- (Terry) This is not an occult science. This is not one of those crazy systems of divination and astrology. That stuff's hooey, and you've got to have a screw loose to go in for that sort of thing. Our beliefs are fairly commonplace and simple to understand. Humankind is simply materialized color operating on the 49th vibration. You would make that conclusion walking down the street or going to the store.

Probably my favorite quote from Might Wind.

I think the point is that people know that she's gay and really don't care that she is. You like to rug munch? Cool, good for you, so do I. Do I have to hear about it everytime you give an interview? I'd much rather hear about your body of work than the bodies you prefer to work on. I don't give two shiats about who you prefer to be intimate with (so long as you're not a Jerry Sandusky-type person).

It'd be just as annoying to hear Jessica Biel talking about her love of deep throating in every interview she gives.

I guess I'm not the only one who didn't know. Although she did play a Lesbian in Best of Show, but then she was straight in A Mighty Wind, so I think she is just yankin our chain.

FirstNationalBastard: ...so little Opie was hotter to lesbians than Joanie?

/Mrs. C was hittable, too.

I wanted to hit Jo on Facts of Life. Forget that dumbass blond, I would rather have nailed Tootie, even though there was no doubt.... Tooted. Would have been the first time, but not the last. Girls fart during sex, if you are doing it right.

Anyway, Jo... Yes, please. I am sure she preferred to feast on the yeast, but I would have gone for it.

So I guess you could say she had a happy day.

Apos: Genuinely funny lady. Pity that she hasn't found a good fit on the small screen.

Here's a challenge for you. Try and go through even a single day without making any mention of your heterosexuality. That means you can't talk about your wife/girlfriend, you can't talk about who you think is hot, can't talk about your kids if you have any,

Huh? The gheys can have kids now so I'm not sure how this qualifies.

ghoulie_mask:
My whole point is you came out all pissy about hearing Jane Lynch was gay again, and that a lot of people are just tired as sh*t of hearing people like you b*tch about people just talking about who they are and that they should hide it for you so you don't feel uncomfortable.

/Not the first time mind you
//Or maybe even the second time
///But definitely after the 30th time

Has Lynch talked about oral sex in interviews much?
