Who cares when the Packers are 9 and 0?

I know about the map shortages and such, but last time I checked, the USA was not in Europe.

"Will Kyle Beckerman start again?"

I think that's the important question.

Airbases across England, Germany, Spain and Italy would disagree.

The headline states that this is for multiple series, including Euro 2012 qualifying, international friendlies, and World Cup qualifying.

America doesn't give a sh*t about the rest of the world. And the rest of the world plus the Upper West Side being butt-hurt over it long surpassed soccer as the greatest international sport.

US will probably grind out a 0-0 draw... again...

I'm hoping the Republic can nab 5 at home with Robbie Keane getting a hat trick and then slightly pulling his hamstring in the 90th minute so he is out just long enough to not play in the MLS final.

God, I would love a win in Europe. Also, less diving and face-grabbing today, please. Also, less Kyle beckerman.

Chupacabra Sandwich: Also, less Kyle beckerman.

Not so fast, my friend:

Here is tonight's #USMNT lineup against Slovenia: Howard, Cherundolo, Goodson, Bocanegra (captain), Chandler, Beckerman, Bradley, Johnson, Dempsey; Buddle, Altidore.

Klinsmann = maximum trolling

This. Start Bradley, he's better and in form. It's not his fault Chievo sucks.

Oh for farks sake. I'm over the klinsmann era. How about Owen coyle as soon as Bolton sacks him. That's my vote.

Beckerman pisses me off just as much as the next guy, but for FFS, who do you put in the DMF spot? I'll agree, he shouldn't even have been called up after the last round of friendlies, but he's here, who do you put in his place?

Oh, and...

Bradley? Edu? Jones? Any of the twenty other dmfs we have?

Ugh, I farking hate international breaks in the middle of the season. Although, United's run of form was awful from the last int'l break, hopefully this break will see them get back into form.

oh yeah, and come on England and all that...

2011-11-15 11:55:39 AM
most of the slovenia's players are in seri-A or for Gent, not one player stands out internationally.

This lineup sucks. Might as well bring back Ricardo Clark while you're at it, Jürgen.

if one watches the preview of other country's matches, they don't belly-ache like espn is doing now.

Don't get all the Bradley love. The guy is the turnover king and many of our cheap goals we conceded when his father was coach he was at the root of either giving the ball away or just the other team putting a pass literally right through him. He is great going forward but we need midfielders who can do it all. Guys like Torres who can shoot, tackle, pass, and have great vision of where to play the ball.

Also subby, what do you mean us getting revenge on Slovenia. If anything, they will be the ones wanting revenge since you know, we advanced and they didn't.

LOL Lalas just said on ESPN he doesn't consider France an elite team. This guy is a clown. I don't think any team in the world could go to Paris and expect a result against France.

Anyway, keep in mind these are friendlies for the US, and friendlies are for trying new things, trying new players, etc so you have an idea of what to do when the matches actually matter. That being said, I think our next match that matters is sometime next summer. We have plenty of time to build.

Under JK, we have conceded less, we aren't giving away cheap goals, and we are attempting to play some actual ball, instead of just getting the ball, and kicking it as far down the field as far we can and run after it like a bunch of seven year olds. It's actually nice to watch the US team under JK, and he's doing this with quite a few sure starters missing.

Eh...Bradley is in the lineup already, can't replace Beckerman. Edu disappears too much in games. I would go with Jones maybe over Beckerman, but ideally Stu comes back healthy (eventually it has to happen, right?) and Bradley drops Beckerman off the squad completely.

/I'm out, having to DVR the match and watch later

We need more Torres. Also, we need revenge for a game we were robbed of, regardless of who advanced. Also, ESPN needs to stop inventing dumb stats.

Anyone know how bedoya is doing with rangers?

Wow, looks really foggy.

Good read re: Klinsmann era so far. Basic jist is, it's 2 years until the World Cup, he has plenty of time still, and it's highly unlikely that his lineups now will resemble his lineups in 2 years.

I'd say this would be a great lineup assuming all players are fit...

-----------------------Howard------
Chandler--- Onyewu--- Bocanegra---Cherundolo
------------------- Edu-------Torres----------------------
Donovan-------------------------------------------Holden
---------------------------Dempsey------------------
----------------------------Altidore----------------------

2011-11-15 12:19:28 PM
Samir Handanovič, (born 14 July 1984) is a Slovenian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Italian club Udinese and the Slovenian national team. He is well known for his ability to save pentalies. During the course of 2010-11 Serie A season he has saved a total of six penalty shots thus tying an all time league record, set in 1948-49 season and is, as of May 2011, five short of an all time league record.

I believe Torres is injured.

We weren't robbed. 2-2 was a fair result. We had players fouling Slovenia too on that free kick so it doesn't matter if they fouled us too. Fact is, those calls always side with the defending team. Tell Dempsey not to be an idiot next time.

There's a third team on the field? I only see USA and Slovenia, but with all the fog, it's entirely possible that Slovakia snuck out there, too.

Personally, I would more concerned about this nasty fog they are playing, rather than holding onto baseless grudges. Officiating at the highest levels is difficult enough as is, but who knows how far the referee can even see in this soup. Good luck to that man.

US is starting out pretty good. But is it cause they've changed tactics, or is this just an easier team?
