I attended one show (without my dog) just to scope out the whole dog show thing.

Basically, most of the dog owners were completely oblivious to the Nazi eugenics angle of "one conformation to rule them all" and the fact that most of them came off not like animal lovers, but angry, closeted fascists. I went home and threw a ball for my dog for about an hour just to get the whiff of liederhosen out of my nose.

Now that I would watch! In all honesty though, the football league would probably be far less damaging than this pageant crap. I've seen how my toddler plays with his older brothers. Playing football against other toddlers would be a piece of cake.

The people who put their kids through this pageant crap are sick in the head. Sure, I can see a "cute baby" contest or something, but dressing your toddler up like a cheap whore to be judged by creepy adults is just plain wrong.
