So, let me get this straight...
The people in the party that support "the protection of marriage" from two loving gay people who want to get married...are supporting the guy who divorced his wife while she was dying of cancer? Who has had affairs and been married three times??

Are you f*cking kidding me?

How 'bout a nice greasy Rick Perry served in a dirty ashtray?

Marriage is only sacred when it is between a man and a woman.

The Bible tells me so.

I really can't believe anyone's serious about the Gingrich thing. Among Republicans no less- if he ever got the nod it's not like you can pretend you're for "family values" anymore.

Next week it will be John McClane, then William Wallace, then Schwarzenegger in Predator, then Jesse Ventura in Predator, then the Predator, then the kids of Red Dawn. Finally, Guile from Street Fighter. Anyone but Romney.

They're not. Folks are just desperate to spin anyone BUT Romney at this point, and the field keeps narrowing as folks snap under the scrutiny. Not even under real competition, but just the day to day bloviation. These are not folks you want anywhere near the Big Chair, but getting folks to realize this is going to take some time, because the crowd they're pandering to isn't the brightest...

Note to Dems:

You actually have to destroy the CURRENT threat to your choice Romney before you move on to the next one.

Cain is still leading. You have more sexual harassment BS to make up.

Every Democrat should register Republican for the sole purpose of voting in the Republican primary (unless your state has open primaries, of course), just to see what havoc might be created.

The Democrats don't have to do anything. They just have to let the current field chew each other up. Newt hits the lead, by the time the Primary comes around, the field will pummel him. That's why he is never going to get the nod, because the field will crush him for his past indiscretions and his own record. The Democrats have to run against the guy or gal who gets through the Primary--there isn't effort to doing much of anything until the candidate emerges. Thinking that the Democrats are behind the wash of allegations and dirt digging is asinine, because it's a waste of time and effort.

And the Democrats aren't going to spend any money that they don't have to. Right now, the candidates worst enemies are themselves and their rivals for the Big Chair. Get used to that.

You might remember that McCain's worst enemies weren't the Democrats, but his own party. Yeah, the out of wedlock child thing? Not a Democratic Machine thing.

Not to mention that he's still spending his time selling books and DVDs. His campaign staff quit last spring when they realized his real goals.

Dude, they ran someone in the last election that went on a vacation to Hawaii with his mistress while his wife was in the hospital. They don't give a flying fark - it's just a stick to bludgeon their opponents with.

Romney will get the nod.

This is really about how much the GOP voters hate Romney and the fact that the GOP powers-that-be have already signed off on his turn.

The sexual harassment crap with Cain was more likely out of the Perry camp, not the Democrats. Gingrich won't last under the spotlight, his competition - primarily Romney - will chew him up over his past and if he actually has to start answering questions about anything other than how big a dick he thinks debate moderators are he will crash and burn just as bad as the other contenders.

Cain and Gingrich are only here to sell books and recharge their relevance to command higher speaking fees. Romney wants to win. Santorum wants to smear his frothy bile and Bachman doesn't have any grasp of reality. Perry thinks he can win but I believe even he sees the chances for that have slipped out of his grasp almost completely. Ron Paul may or may not be third, but no one will talk about him as the GOP hates him even more than Romney.

Both could be true with Newton. The best thing about Gingrich for the GOP is he's least likely to be dragged up as a kiddie diddler or be caught wearing a diaper while screwing hookers.

At this point, I think even Bill S. Preston could pretty easily derail any of the GOP primaries. They're not exactly running from a position of strength this round, the entire US is pretty convinced most of 'em are nuts from the beginning.

Were you expecting any kind of honesty?

Seriously, Republicans love to judge Clinton's presidency based on his marital indiscretions. They love to bring up John Edwards every time they're fending off a Republican's sex scandal, and here they are, gradually putting their support behind Newt farking Gingrich.

The only difference between Newt and Edwards is that at least Gingrich had the common sense not to knock up his mistress.

At least McCain could come up with the excuse that after years in the Hanoi Hilton, he was no longer the same man he was when he married her, that ptsd helped to break up the first marriage. Gingrich's only excuse is that he's a hypocritical asshole.

Well, there's that. There's also the fact that Edwards never had to resign his Speaker position to avoid ethics charges.

The biggest threat to Mitt Romney is that the average IQ of the voters increases.

2011-11-15 07:52:46 AM
Romney was going to win from day 1. I remember back when the Democrats decided to hand Bush the election in 2004 by nominating Kerry. You Americans... you're so funny. Huntsman is the only candidate with a realistic chance of beating Obama in a general election. But he apparently believes in evolution as well as having foreign policy credentials, so burn the heretic.
