Ya it can happen. We had a night a couple decembers ago where we had 18 confirmed touchdowns within about 3 hours.

I was working as a cop at the time and no one bothered to tell me it was my job to turn on the tornado sirens. When they finally walked me through it over the phone, turns out the city never serviced them and they didnt work.

Yeah, that one damn near got me. I was about three miles away from that trailer park... You still find siding and junk in the woods behind Angel Mounds.

I was pregnant and couldn't sleep because I was feeling sick, and I ended up calling my grandparents in Newburgh when I saw their road come up on the tracker. I have never heard anything so serious from the weather guys when, on air, one of them finally said, in a strained voice, "John, call my family and make sure they're in the basement. . . .NOW." Scary stuff.
