If tanookies don't like being killed for their fur, maybe they should just turn into stone when people try it, huh?

2011-11-14 02:43:14 PM
I'm going to skin the head of PETA and wear her skinny lesbian ass like a sport coat.

I'll do it while eating some asparagus so I don't offend anyone.

FTFA: "Tanooki may be just a "suit" in Mario games, but by wearing the skin of an animal, Mario is sending the message that it's OK to wear fur."

By this logic, Mario also is sending the message that it is ok to step on turtles, eat mushrooms and flowers, explore drain pipes, raid castles, ride dinosaurs, fly with leaves, and rescue princesses.

They just want the attention. Stop giving them attention and they'll go away.

Of course, Mario's Tanooki Suit is just that -a suit, a costume, not actually a skinned animal. And of course, PETA is just attempting to grab some publicity on the back of a major video game release, which is why I'm not linking to their game.

Of course. But you're still writing an article about it.

//yeah, yeah, and I'm commenting on it

Terrorism is defined as an organization that uses terorr-spreading tactics to persue religious, political, or ideological goals.

Around 2003, PETA handed out pamphlets called "Your mommy kills animals" to young children in a ham-fisted attempt to terrorize children and coerce their parents.

Your mommy kills animals! (Pops, PDF)

Therefore, under the definition of terrorism, PETA is a terrorist organization. Donate money or adopt from a local animal shelter instead.

Belonging to PETA should be one of those automatic qualifiers for automatic involuntary euthanasia.

They are terrorists. Fur producing animals are indigenous to cold climates; their fur is warm. Wow.

PETA is complaining about something Mario did 23 years ago?

Like the Hammer Suit, the Tanooki suit is a chance to reflect on the transitory nature of vast power. Heavy is the head that throws hammers or turns into a statue to evade marauding goombas.

"In the world I see - you're stalking elk through the damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center. You'll wear leather clothes that will last you the rest of your life. You'll climb the wrist-thick kudzu vines that wrap the Sears Tower. And when you look down, you'll see tiny figures pounding corn, laying strips of venison on the empty car pool lane of some abandoned superhighway."

When did it become bad for humans to wear fur? We weren't exactly born with much of our own.

Rome Total War sends the message that it is ok to slaughter millions, enslave entire nations and build aqueducts.

They'll get to Dr. Robotnik for enslaving forest animals soon enough. They're still stuck on whether or not jelly blobs from RPGs are classified as animals, and whether they deserve protection.

Perhaps the controversy is that Mario, as an Italian plumber, has plenty of his own body hair and doesn't need to wear additional fur.

Why does PETA, an organization that slaughters animals, care about the treatment of animals?

2011-11-14 05:47:27 PM
I didn't even know she had fur. I thought it was more of a thick orange hide.

And fark PETA. I'm all for animal rights, but these assholes are nothing but money grubbing trolls who make the whole animal rights movement look bad.

From time to time, I sort of want to start respecting PETA... then they do some stupid shiat like this and all desire to do anything but pray for nuclear annihilation on them is all I have.

Usually, after the "eat mushrooms" step, everything else kinda comes naturally.

Let's take a moral stand on a cartoon character wearing a COSTUME (no one said it was a "real" animal skin Mario was wearing) of a non-existant animal in an old video game.

There I times I understand (not agree with) the moral stand some people take about the killing of animals... then they go all 'pants-on-head' retarded like this and lose any goodwill they may have cultivated.

2011-11-14 05:51:15 PM
Just wait until they find out about the Frog Suit. Excuse me, the "swamp kitten" suit.

2011-11-14 05:53:26 PM
From the headline I thought they were going after Mario Lopez.

Jesus !@#$%^&* Christ, they're going after a video game character?
That's Jack Thompson level derp.

RoxtarRyan: They're still stuck on whether or not jelly blobs from RPGs are classified as animals, and whether they deserve protection.

I'll have you know that I am a proud member of the Slime Holocaust Awareness League of Alefgard (SHALA).

Every year, some two-bit low level warrior with delusions of grandeur waltzes into the hills and starts massacring slimes en masse, endlessly and pointlessly.... no, that is literally what they do: Wander back and forth killing slimes one by one. And for what? For the 1 or 2 gold pieces that they might possess? For their lunch money? ...for their hides? .....all so he can buy the copper sword back at the weapon shop?

This senseless slaughter must end!!! Slimes are intelligent, resourceful creatures that deserve more attention and compassion than just being stepping stones for the next level of experience. They deserve our care, our protection, and most importantly: Our love.

END SLIME GENOCIDE!!

2011-11-14 05:54:47 PM
"Tanukis are real-life raccoon dogs who are beaten and, as PETA's undercover exposés show, often skinned alive for their fur,"

Well, that's okay. See, Mario doesn't wear a "tanuki" suit, he wears a "tanooki" suit; big difference.

My theory is the only reason the donations haven't dried up is because the national meat producers organizations fund them on the sly. Then, whenever someone actually considers serious criticism of the US meat industry, the latest PETA idiocy persuades them not to so they won't look retarded.
