If you didn't Budget for that, it would Hertz.

He's terrified the cartel may come for it so they nicely give his name, where he works, his occupation, the dealership he bought it from and pretty much screwed him if it was a valid concern.

Thanks, media, for setting up the follow up story!

I resent that submitter. I never forget about the cocaine, it's my stash of guns and money hidden under the spare tire I always forget.

That's why you kick down the extra few bucks and get complete insurance on your rental car. I'm also planning out beating the hell out of the thing.

No, the news story is proof that he no longer has the cocaine.

On the other hand, now the cartel knows to stop looking for it.

And it isn't like they had a 'If you find this cocaine, please call (760)123-4567 for a $10,000 reward" tag on it.

A customer of mine bought a car from a police auction that came with a bunch of heroin.

This is why I prefer to fix the car myself.

He found out 15 months later when he went to a mechanic to get his brakes checked

So, he took his car in to get the brakes checked, and the mechanic found this in the door panel? Sounds like Mr. Mechanic was busy farking Mr. Preston over with a bunch of extra *issues* that he *found* during his *inspection.*

Probably less than they recorded as well.

It was nice of the police to believe this white person's sob story about being sold a drug mule-mobile. I'm sure the same courtesy would have been extended to DuRell Jackson or Ernesto Hlllllopez.

Well, with names like those, they would obviously be guilty!!!

Maybe ghosts were crowding the previous owner's fragile eggshell mind...

Holy shiat write that mechanic's name down, he may be the only non shady one in the city. Most would have sold the coke and billed you extra on the window.

/no one is looking for that coke.

"When someone says, 'Tell me about yourself,' " he said, "I'll finally have something interesting to talk about."

Me too! I can tell people I read a story about some nit-wit that gave the cops half a million in cocaine without even sampling it.

2011-11-14 01:33:10 PM
I think this story just points out how bad the war on drugs is going.

They have a business, where a half million dollars in profit is just left behind.

"uses it to haul food he pays for out of his own salary to feed people living on the street"

that will get you arrested around here.

Mexican cocaine = 30% cocaine + 70% flour

Wow...is it just me? Who else thinks someone at the "Thrifty" car rental was intending to use car #2948924 for a little delivery and then some stupid salesman sold the vehicle? Hector, "What happened to the white van?" Bob, " Just got 14 grand for it." Cut to an hour later...three guys show up in a black sedan, "Where's Hector?" Bob, "Never came back from lunch."

The real story is the idea that he could be put in jail for life if the police had pulled him over and found a reason to search his car.

Is this where someone comments on the $5000 worth of cocaine retrieved by police from saiid vehicle?

My face mostly, and for a very long time.

I bet, all in all, the guy is simply pissed that the mechanic found it, and not him. That pretty much obligated him to go to the cops.

I don't do coke, but if i found a stash like that, i'd probably pick up the habit, and be like Tony Montana.

2011-11-14 03:06:40 PM
The people who are really pissed off are the people he gives food to on the streets. He could have been giving them free cocaine this whole time.

wait, why did Hector disappear if Bob's the one that sold his coke van? did he tell Bob about it, then Bob double-crossed him? or did Bob know about it all along and intentionally sell it to his secret partner, then when Hector discovered the connection they had to "take care of him"?

there are too many plot holes here. I give it two thumbs down.

Did a stint at Enterprise after college. One time someone else in the office rented a brand new Grand Prix with under 10 miles to someone for a weekend rental. Car never came back and credit card started declining. Couple of days later Texas Highway Patrol calls saying they seized the car due to it being used for drug transport.

Got the car back two months later. All the door panels wripped off and the trunk destroyed. The car had to be totalled.

Why would some drug cartel come gunning for that guy instead of the mule who left the drugs in there to start with?
