I noticed QBs are still reviewing print-outs of photos of the defensive formations when they are on the sidelines. Seems like a tablet would be a lot more efficacious for that, if you can keep them from playing Angry Birds.

Can't use video, but still photography is OK.

Problem is in current age, someone staring at a Nikon's LCD screen will be accused of cheating.

Solution: spend $28,422 on color ink every game.

I'm going with B. I don't think the NFL has any rules on hacking so Bill Belichick is in a safe place for now.

I'll take the third option: Belichick misinterprets the rules of hacking, only to be presented with naked pictures of the player's computer that he hacked.

Rules are for pussies.

Apparently so is knowledge, since the Patriots never used the video that they filmed during game time, and that the only rule that was broken is that the cameraman was improperly positioned.

Remember, in New York, taking video for review during a bye week is illegal, but this is perfectly fair:

Wonder how teams are going to handle security? A wireless packet sniffer, a little creativity, and suddenly you're in business on a whole different level. Do it right, and it's invisible to the other team...

How do we know the Patriots never used the video? Oh yeah, Belichick said so. You know, the same Belichick who said we never taped, then changed his story to well, just this once, we taped, then it was we did tape before, but only the defensive signals, and finally admitted yes, we did tape the offensive and defensive signals for seven years, during which time by some amazing coincidence we won the Super Bowl three times, the only times we have ever won it. But we never used the tapes during games. Really.

Gee, I know I believe him.

Because cameras are almost constantly on the coaching staff during the game, and never during any game was the coaching staff found with their head in a viewfinder.

Also, the playclock. From the time that a defensive signal was given (which is almost always based on how the offense lines up), there's usually only a few seconds before the snap.

That's not enough to go through and review film archives for what defensive assignments were given out, relay those to the QB, and audible the play.

Given the ipad security problems, I would vote the later. Apple's mobile device OS is a security nightmare, even if the league would allow them on the side lines, teams would be crazy to use them.
