I like how Tebow fans are going all-in on this niche offense Denver needs to run to accommodate their non-quarterback, as if opposing teams never review game film. Miami's wildcat looked unbeatable, too. Then teams took a few minutes to study it.

I think he can manage to be decent the rest of the year, simply because it's late enough in the year at this point. There are three losses that I think are guaranteed: Jets, Bears, Patriots. Chargers, Vikings, Bills and Chiefs are more up in the air. Even if he wins all of those, that's 4-3 to finish off the year, 7-5 overall. That's the best possible, and do so presenting an offense that nobody has ever seen before. Not all of those teams are going to be able to fully stop him during the season. But during the offseason, EVERYONE is going to figure out how to stop him. Can't be that hard. 5 rushers, a pair of spies, and 4 CBs and S, challenging him to go man to man passing. Easy enough challenge, he can't pass worth shiat.

Best case, he's 7-5, and crashes and burns next year. Worst case, the Jets figure this out next week, and everyone else just watches the Jets film and he ends up 3-9.

I think even giving him the end of the year is a little optimistic. A real defense in Detroit already blew him up. It's only a matter of time before even the average defenses catch up.

And Tebow isn't even a bad football player. He's just a bad quarterback. I don't know whether its because he's being obstinate, his coach, or just his fans but the refusal to move him to a position where he can succeed will only stunt his career and make him the butt of jokes when it does finally fall apart for good.

/Are we supposed to just forget how awful he looked against Miami and how OT was won by a turnover in Miami territory and a long field goal?

So, if the Broncos do manage to win the AFC West, how much money are you putting on the Broncos to lose their first round playoff game on the road, probably against the Steelers or Ravens? I mean, do you visit a loan shark, or do you just put four mortgages on your house and max out the cash advance on every credit card?

Hi. I'm Matt Schaub. I noticed you needed to read this caption to figure that out. That's OK. Sometimes, members of my own family ask questions like "What is Matt doing these days?" and "If there was an NFL football team in Houston, I think I would have heard about it by now. Do you mean high school football? Isn't Matty too old for that?"

I'm a much better quarterback than Tim Tebow. The media is sad that my team doesn't have a "quarterback controversy", because I can throw the ball to receivers. ESPN would rather cover hockey than mention my name. Frowny face.

I don't do cool, edgy things like run for 7 yard scrambles. My coach says it's because I'm a good QB, so I should focus on passing, which he thinks is part of the QB thing. Did you know that I have 2,479 yards passing? Don't worry. I had to look it up, too. My coach says I'm a mile better than Tim Tebow. I said "Oh gosh golly.", but then he said "No, really. Tim Tebow has only thrown for 605 yards. You're literally over a mile better." Then he noogied me. Oh, that coach!

My team is 7-3. I heard that if we win a few more games, the NFL is legally required to show one of our games. On the TV! This will happen even though most people can't name more than 2 people on our roster. Did you know one of our guys is named Mister Alexander? I wanted him to go to medical school, but coach says we need him at linebacker. Durnit.

As a Bronco fan, I can appreciate that Tebow is doing things to lead his team to wins, and I can REALLY appreciate it when those wins are over the Raiders and Chiefs. But it is undeniable to all but the most myopic Tebow fans: if he cannot learn to pass like a real QB, STAT, he's going to get destroyed and fast.

There is a REASON that NFL teams don't run the option, and we saw it yesterday. Tebow is better doing to the delayed QB draw off the fake than running the option. His pass to Decker for the TD was a great throw, but some of those other misses were more than terrible - they were embarrassing.

If I'm Elway, absent a MAJOR improvement in Tebow's passing skills that I simply don't think is going to happen, I'm telling Tim at the end of the season, "You're converting to fullback. That is all."

I'm too lazy to run the article down now. But I distinctly remember an article either shortly before the draft or right after, that Tebow wouldn't consider being a fullback instead of a QB, because the QB position gave him the best stage to proselytize from.

You'd get better odds if you took a bet on the Broncos making the playoffs in the first place.

They haven't been there since 2005. And other than that year (in which they got smacked by the Steelers), every time they did get there they got smacked by Indy. So betting on the Broncos to lose in the playoffs isn't some sort of windfall betting event.

Everyone is biatching about how they can't win long term with Tebow, or how they can't win the SuperBowl. Big deal. This team hasn't one two games in a row in forever. This team hasn't won two games in a row, on the road, in the division in more than forever.

Let's get to .500 before we start worrying about long term.

Miami's biggest problem with the wildcat was (1) losing Ronnie Brown and a lot of linemen halfway through the '09 season, and (2) Sparano spending the 2010 offseason basically firing every lineman not named Jake Long and replacing them with cheaper players and questionable rookies.

The wildcat still worked pretty well even after a year of teams learning it. A couple teams shut it down, but most did not. Ronnie and Ricky had a pretty good shot at dual 1,000-yard seasons before someone sneezed on Ronnie and broke his foot.

I know Tebow doesn't want to convert to any position, but if he doesn't learn how to throw a farking football correctly and consistantly FAST, he's not going to get that choice. At least not as a Bronco - Elway and Fox are still tiptoeing around the whone Tebow as a QB thing, and wouldn't hesitate to shiat-can the whole experiment if Tebow doesn't improve.

And that's the part young Tim better figure out fast - NO OTHER TEAM in this league is going to give him a shot as a QB. If the Broncos give up on him as a QB, he's DONE unless he converts to another position.

This. I too appreciate the little bastard but it's a passing league. That and the option isn't run all that often in the NFL because it kills quarterbacks. Those are giant dudes on the other side of that ball, not some marginal linebacker from DeVry State. Keep up the Tebow left/right plays and the Great Tim Experiment will eventually go on hold for several weeks.

I'm pretty convinced Elway knows this, too. He just has a task to position himself and the organization to fend-off the attacks from the Denver Te-bots after he drafts or trades for a QB for next year.

"I get disappointed. I want to score every time I touch the ball. I want to have a great play every time I touch the ball. But I think something that helps me is I've known all along is it's not life and death whatever happens. I've always prepared for it. My faith in Christ has helped me with that. But also, you can't look behind. You have to look ahead."

Does this cockwaffle have to stuff his God-pimping into every single interview he does? Is this part of the God-pimp contract? "You are obliged to piss people off by shoving your religion into the face of everyone you meet and talk to lest you be tossed into the pit of Hades for all eternity."

I don't recall seeing such an article, but I can buy the first part. If you've been trained and played as a quarterback it's pretty hard to give that position up at the professional level--even if you suck at it.

I don't know if I believe the bold part. Yes, Tebow loves get get his evangelical on (one of the reasons I'm annoyed by him), but refusing to play the position that best gives your team to win because it takes away from your proselytizing? That seems really petty, even for him.

I don't THINK this was the article I was referring to, but this quote is kind of along those lines, but I REALLY think I read a similar quote about why he wanted to be a quarterback (he's not there for the fans or to help his team win)

"I want to try to be someone (who) parents can say to their sons, 'Hey, you can look up to him,' " Tebow says. "The NFL is not the end for me; it is a means to an end. It gives me a platform to make a difference, hopefully, for the next generation."

Tebow took zero completions for zero yards passing into halftime. Oh, and a 10-0 lead.

Say what you will about Tebow but the guy wins games. I mean 0 for 0 passing but I don't see anyone else handing the ball off quite like Tebow. The man is a winner plain and simple. He hands that ball off like a champ.

VvonderJesus:
Indy's remaining schedule: vs CAR, @ NE, @ BAL, vs TEN, vs HOU, @ JAC

0-16 is very real at this point.

Of course.

Of course this is the year that the Redskins have a very real shot at not only sucking, but sucking bad enough that it would pay off in a #1 pick actually worthy of being picked #1...only to have someone suck more than them and get that pick.

Also, of course Indy gets to replace Peyton Manning with Andrew Luck. fark me in the goat ass...

Indy doesn't want to win. They want Andrew Luck.

Indy wants to win 1 game. Avoid 0-16 and still be number 1 overall. The only game I see them having a chance in is vs CAR, coming off their bye week.

See that's the whole point...the point is to be soul-crushingly bad enough to make your fans want to burn the stadium down, and yet not quite bad enough to get a QB that can finally start fixing your teams ills....

The Redskins operate on a whole higher strata of suck that most of us can't fathom as non ethereal entities of sucktitude...

As a lifelong Redskins fan, I can fathom it.

You want to know what's going to happen? We're going to finish with the #2 or #3 pick overall. And then trade Indy their #1 for like 6 Draft picks, all 1st and 2nd rounders for the next 3 years.

The Luck will be terrible for his entire career and/or have some sort of horrific, career-ending injury.

And then we'll have to suffer horrible newspaper puns like "Redskins 'Luck' runs out!"

How does it feel to have the best quarterback in Denver sitting up in the owner's box every home game?

So Tebow wins games and puts asses in seats.

Is that wrong?
