(CNN) Amusing Columnist complains because CBS cuts the Republican debate short for an NCIS rerun. Hey, let's be fair... Abby and Ziva vs. Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum: which group is more believable, and which would you choose to watch?   (cnn.com) divider line 86

It does seem kind of weird though... it was a Saturday night... it wasn't to run a first-run NCIS, it was to put on a rerun.

If you don't really want to show debates, then, just don't show them at all... I'm sorry you don't have a cable news channel CBS, you should have bought into CNN when you had the chance.

Yeah, I don't get it either.

Though I do like that CBS kept it to 60 minutes in a lulz pun sort of way.

Punishment for scheduling too many debates and relegating this one to 'geez, another one?'

Aside from both being fictional characters and in a purely hypothetical sense: One would say Ziva, because...well...damn, look at her! When reality kicks in we all know we have to say Abby because she the one we might actually have a chance with.

NCIS is such a mediocre show it surprised me to hear it's one of the most popular shows on television. And finding out the cute goth chick is over 40 was shocking, to say the least.

2011-11-14 11:44:37 AM
Something about Pauley Perrette...her face and head remind me of a midget who was stretched to normal size.

Not that there's anything bad about that. Midgets rule.

2011-11-14 11:45:40 AM
Seriously, what do these candidates have to say anymore? There's been at least one debate every week for almost 2 months now.

2011-11-14 11:48:41 AM
The only thing that was good about NCIS was the goth chick.

The rest of is the the same as the rest of that police procedural dreck.

The actress playing Abby being over 40 definitely boggled my mind as well.

I hear there are 14 more GOP primary debates scheduled, by the time they get through these the networks will be interrupting them to run old Billy Mays Oxyclean infomercials.

IrateShadow: Seriously, what do these candidates have to say anymore? There's been at least one debate every week for almost 2 months now.

They're hammering in as much Obama bashing as possible. It's a circle jerk. Maybe getting preempted for an NCIS rerun (of all things) is an appropriate hint---"You want to keep doing this BS? Go to your home at Fox News and leave the Big Three alone. We have advertisers and viewership to worry about." And if anybody has ratings to worry about, it's CBS.

2011-11-14 11:52:40 AM
Watching this clown show is more entertaining than NCIS however.

2011-11-14 11:52:55 AM
Shut up, Todd Graham, you cock.

Romney is the candidate.
Nobody cares what the others have to say.
And third, I um... number three is... um... EPA!

2011-11-14 11:53:12 AM
Obviously, there's three reasons to watch NCIS over the debates: The first is Abby, the second is Ziva, and the third is...well, the third reason to watch NCIS would be that...ummm....sorry, it just slipped my mind. Oops.

14?!?!?!

I mean there is losing with grace and handing your opponent victory on a silver platter.

I'm shocked to see the Republicans going the silver platter route. That's typically a Democratic Party thing.

How many "debates" are we up to now, a baker's dozen? Nobody cares anymore. The choice is Romney, and Romney is going to lose. The only reason the last three "debates" took place is because GOPers are incapable of ever admitting defeat in anything. How long is CBS supposed to entertain this nonsense?

JLEM: They're hammering in as much Obama bashing as possible.

From last night's debate:

"We're here tonight talking to the American people about why every single one of us is better than Barack Obama, and that's something everyone here can agree with," former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said

fark you, Newt, you thumb-dicked pasty sack of shiat.

2011-11-14 11:58:10 AM
To be fair, maybe if the GOP kept it to one debate every two days instead of 2.5 per day, more people would want to watch. All these guys do is debate, and it's not even the interesting kind where they debate policy, it's all theatrics and "secret plans" on how they're actually going to solve the domestic and foreign policy issues surrounding the nation.

"I'm going to close down 3 gov't departments!"

"Oh yeah, I'm going to do 5!"

"$2 gas!!!"

"10 cent gas!!!"

"Federal sales tax is apples!"

"I'll repeal DADT, even though there are all kinds of openly gay soldiers now!"

Really? This is the cream of the GOP crop?

Can't we just submit a list of questions to these guys and have them just write their damn answers and post them up. If these debates were actual debates, as in everyone answers the same questions and they get to pose questions and rebutt each other's arguments, that would be mildly entertaining. But this just comes off like a clumsy interview.

Yes. This is what you get when you spend decades lauding anti-intellectualism. It's like some kind of Special Olympics debate exhibition. I keep waiting for the moderator to close the debate by telling them how special they all are and how they're all winners, and then offering them all ice cream and a hug.

You know, I'm really going to enjoy seeing the President pwn any one of these clowns. Hell, I'd pay good money to see Obama show up unannounced at one of these debates and do a Baltimore on all of them.

Just for the epic lulz and seeing the collective heads of the RNC explode.

It wouldn't be so bad if they at least tried to explain or rationalize their positions somehow.

You're assuming that there is a possible explanation or rationalization. The more you talk about those sorts of statements you more you realize that they have nothing to do with reality.
