As much as I support the Occupy Movement and its message(s), wayward (boneheaded) groups such as this, I fear, will only impede well-deserved progress, and a trend seems to be setting in. The Oakland rioters, Occupy Oakland investing its donations to Wells Fargo, and now the idiocy of Occupy Seattle... oh dear!

This is always going to be a problem with not having a leader - the group is going to start drifting towards whichever viewpoint is loudest, in this case anarchist douchebags. As that viewpoint starts to dominate, people who share it will be encouraged, and the people who don't will be discouraged, and so the crowd as a whole will start drifting further and further towards it until they're more extreme than any one member was to begin with.

You see it happen sometimes on unmoderated message boards, where a viewpoint that is unappetizing to the mainstream, starts getting trumpeted by a few of the louder members, causing members repulsed by that viewpoint to leave and people who are entranced by that viewpoint to join. In a few months a forum can go from being apolitical to being extreme left or extreme right - I know 4chan had a problem with their news board where as time went on it went from having diverse views to being essentially a neo-nazi propaganda site, due to just a few loud racists. Eventually they had to delete the board.

Wow, that really is horrible. How dare a bunch of arrogant "activists" prevent a group of elitists from usurping their movement with the goal of making the Occupy Movement serve some faction of the current political establishment? The people scheduled to speak on stage were right to try to speak for the whole movement. Furthermore, the Occupy Movement needs to submit to either the Republican or The Democratic Party or just go away. Otherwise, they are just wasting everyones' time.
