i'll never forgive my father for raising me as a browns fan.

did you hear about the guy walking by the browns stadium? He says to it "you're a sadness factory. every time I think you're going to be something else, you fail me again. every week i come here with hopes, and every week they're dashed against the cliffs of your incompetence. you break my heart, you warp my soul." he pauses. "see you next week."

The browns deserved to lose. Who hands off the ball to the tight end with the game on the line.

This is what Browns fans wanted: change from Mangini, change from Crennel, change from Davis, change from Policy and Savage. Well, here it is, your change, handed to you on a silver platter. Does it look similar to the ineptitude before? Well it isn't. There's one key difference: You wanted it, and you got it.

Ok, please explain to me why Tim Tebow is treated like the second coming of Satan on fark, while Colt McCoy, who came out in the same draft, and is clearly a worse QB, gets absolutely no hatred. Could it be because McCoy played at Notre Dame South, I mean University of Texas?

Aw it was a downer, that was. So close.

On another subject: I, and a couple of other ladies, agree that had we named our sons "Colt," we would have understood if he wanted to punch us for that after he sorta grew up.

You're talking about the Tim Tebow who completed two passes for 69 yards and a touchdown today? I'm sorry, but being a good RB != good QB.

Kind of apples and oranges.

Tebow gets hated on because not just because he's not very good, but because he was so hyped despite evidence as to why he'd be a bad NFL QB (throwing motion, lack of a deep ball, etc.), and partially because of the whole evangelical thing. He was put in over a QB that was widely considered superior, despite having been the "worst QB in training camp".

McCoy was a 4th round pick, and nothing big was expected of him. He played in some games last year because the 2 guys in front of him went down with injury, and he actually looked quite good in a few games. So he had some track record of NFL success, but still nobody was hyping him up except in Cleveland. Despite his struggles this year, he's still not anywhere near as bad as Tim Tebow.

So, there was less expected of him, less hype and he's produced more... does that answer your question?

Tebow ONLY attempted 8 passes in said game, and at least he doesn't hurt his team. University of Texas consistently produces head cases in the NFL. See Williams, Ricky or Young, Vince for further reference.

Also, McCoy has been more productive despite the fact that he has no running game, receivers who wouldn't make most practice squads, and an offensive line that constantly has him running for his life like Jason Voorhees is right behind him.

DOESN'T HURT HIS TEAM? Are we still talking about the Tim Tebow who completed less than half of his passes and had an INT run back 100 yards for a TD two weeks ago?

It dates back earlier to the draft though: In college people loved to hate on Tebow as well, and McCoy was basically anonymous outside the Big12. Tebow winning a title and having Tom Brennan slobber all over him certainly could explain some of it, but again, the Tebow thing was well into effect before that as well.

Colt McCoy career: 5-12, 59% completion pct, 209 YPG, 16 TD 15 INT, 16 Rush YPG, 1 Rush TD, 2 FL

This is worse than Tim Tebow?

At a custody hearing, a judge was taking testimony from the little boy whose parents recently divorced. The judge asked him if he'd like to live with his mom.
He said, "No, she beats me."

The judge said, "OK, how about your dad ?"

"No," the little boy replied. "He beats me too."

"Any of your grandparents ?"

"No, they beat me too."

The judge was perplexed. "Then who would you like to live with ?"
The little boy said, "I'd like to live with the Cleveland Browns, because they don't beat anybody."

At this point, we'll be lucky to reach 5-11 again. We've got Jacksonville next week in a game in which I fully expect Maurice Jones Drew to score more points than the entire Cleveland offense. From there, our final six games consist of the Bengals, the Cardinals, the Ravens twice and the Steelers twice.

Brownies fan here, and I was at the stadium for today's debacle. Let me tell ya, I've never heard so much negativity from random fans sitting around the stadium. Yeah, we cheered, but there was an overwhelming feeling before the game even started that we were going to lose to a 1-7 team. Shermur's play calling is downright embarrassing. Is Colt our answer? Who knows. What i do know is that the head coach called for a fullback run at the end of the game, and we didnt even have our fullback on the field.

I live in Nashville now and ...well, I'm sitting at the bar...and I'm watching the game...and then "The Snap" happens. What emanated from my mouth was not words, nor an exclamation by any definition of the word. What it was was twelve years of pent up frustration, disappointment, anger, dejection, bitterness and disbelief expelling itself in some type of loud, guttural muscle spasm at a volume which appeared to genuinely frighten everyone else in the bar.

I'm most amazed by the third down pass attempts. In the first quarter, there was a 3rd and 2, and they throw it one yard. Later, a 3rd and 4 and they throw it two yards. Over and over on short yardage, they continue to throw behind the first down marker.

Its funny, as they were lining up for the kick, i turned to my buddy and said: "He's already kicked 4 good ones. Odds say something gets farked this time." Lo and behold...

But I don't blame the FG unit and i sure as hell can't blame Dawson. I blame a inept offensive play-calling and an almost supernatural inability to score a farking touchdown when it actually matters. I can only say that everyone in Brown's Stadium had the same reaction as you. Walking down the ramps after the game someone behind me noted that we still have 5 division games left. Everyone in earshot laughed in response. The pain of a Browns fan is a unique one, and it can't be surprising that folks in TN just don't get it.

Did y'all secretly hire Greg Davis after he was fired from UT? I get flashbacks to the 2008-09 seasons and PTSD watching McCoy get pounded on and used for a tackling dummy because of such shiatty play calling and an O-Line that Stephen Hawking could maneuver past. My GF's entire family are Browns fans from Cleve-Land, and they've sucked my soul into the abyss getting me to root for the Browns.

A Browns fan friend of mine rooted a little too enthusiastically for the Ravens over the Steelers last week. I didn't call him out on it, but I'm pretty sure he (further) jinxed the whole team and fanbase in the process. Browns fans cheering the Ravens? How much that must rot the soul... His tune sure changed this week, that's certain.

I'm a Rams fan who, for my birthday, wanted to go to an outdoor football game- elected to go to Chiefs/Broncos today at Arrowhead.

Great stadium, KC fans- we had a blast, hung out in the parking lot for an hour beforehand shooting the shiat with tons of friendly folks, and despite the fact that the wife and I were wearing Rams gear head to toe, we were greeted warmly in our seats by fans who were happy to see "the other Missouri team" represented. Despite eventually losing, fans were into the action, and knowledgeable about what was going on for the entirety of the game. (Fav part was using the "card stunt" cards to make giant paper airplanes to float down to lower decks.)

Only "negative" moment was on the way out- a couple of very bitter KC fans started hassling me and the wife with lines like "wtf, go back to your own crappy stadium", "rams suck" and other highbrow jabs. I paused, turned, smiled, and said "My team won today. You guys got beat by Tebow."

They shut up.
