That's very sad.

And apparently, there's a dearth of interesting resorts in Nova Scotia.

"Several years ago, my husband and I and are dog, Jake, spent one of the most wonderful weekends of our lives with you in one of your cottages."

Canadian English is a strange and frightening thing

Why can't Nova Scotia have a hurricane when it really needs one?

Charred monocles cover the once pristine beach.

Could be worse, we could be a different political region, in a North American country's southeastern end, that puts out so much news it has its own Fark tag. The occasional nice vacation spot burning down isn't all that bad an output, looked at that way. Now they can make it look like it did over 70 years ago!

/No!
//Nobody was alive then!

Well, better than a munitions ship exploding in the harbour, huh?

Bummer that it burned down. Wife and I stayed there over 20 years ago. I don't remember it being that special, or historic in any way.... As Gyrfalcon said, there aint much to do in NS.

There are only two possible explanations:
1. Aliens.
2. Speech-recognition software that can't differentiate homonyms.

Canadianisms:

Tory - of the Conservative Party of Canada or provincial Progressive Conservatives
Pogie - unemployment or welfare payouts
Loonie - $1 coin with a loon on it

That's all you need to know

I've never heard of the place. If I knew of it, would I be sad or happy or confused or what?

A beautiful resort. Girlfriend and I loved staying in the a cabin, hiking up to the main lodge for hot tub soak or food. Friendly staff. Am sorry it burnt down.

"Nova Scorcha"? It was a bad pun when 'E-Man' did it 30 years ago, and it's still a bad pun now.
