I have throughly enjoyed watching Chris Jericho and had the pleasure of seeing him perform live, on three occassions and each time, he did not disappoint.

Whether you loved him or hated him, you knew that when you saw him, you were seeing something very special.

It may not be 'real' but I still respect their abilities

I guess he doesn't want to have to deal with Michael Cole talking over his matches

Jericho is on a very short list of wrestlers who had the "total package" - the combination of the look, charisma, ability to work the crowd and the in ring ability.

Fun fact: He booked a lot of his own stuff in WCW (ripping Dave Penzer's tux, the listing of the 1004 holds etc) because no one thought he was worth the effort.

Just like Ric Flair retired after that Wrestlemania vs. Shawn Michaels. I believe it when I see it. I think Terry Funk has had something close to 15 retirement matches*. I smell a work by Chris Jericho

*Not the kayfabe, loser retires match. Literally 15 times he said "this will be my last match" so please come see it

Don't forget, WWE doesn't call their people 'wrestlers' and they don't 'wrestle'. They are WWE Superstars, and they are entertainers.

So when Jericho says he will never wrestle for WWE again, it may mean nothing.

2011-11-13 07:40:01 PM
He just meant he'd never wrestle again. His new gimmick is of a tall, steroid-fueled muscular Welshman who walks around pretending to be Batista.

2011-11-13 07:40:58 PM
I'll going ahead and pencil in Jericho/Undertaker for EntertainmentMania right now. Jericho will be in the Rumble.

Oh, he'll be back. Give me a break, Jericho, lol.

Meanwhile, TNA Turning Point 2011 in 13 minutes!

We tried getting a dedicated TNA thread, but this'll do.

And why is the PPV called "Turning Point"? Is Hogan, Sting, or Angle not going to run roughshod over the young guys?

Stop being such a geek, BROTHER, we made Bobby Roode the champion like you wanted, only we did it through a terrible heel turn and making him the latest Immortal bad guy!

Stream #1 at FirstRow is currently showing the full match of the Storm/Roode title change.

Not for nothing, but this is one thread that really should be in Entertainment.

/because fark me, that's why

Obama, Clinton, Nixon, Occupy Wall Street-filled promo package to start off Turning Point.

2011-11-13 08:04:07 PM
TNA must've hired new guys, their video stuff has been much better. Playing "I am not a crook, I've earned everything I've got" over Roode's title win, as dumb as it was? Good stuff.

In that case, I rescind my previous statement. SPORTS entertainment, baby!

Robbie E's gimmick is like Zack Ryder without any of the charisma or wrestling talent.

Did Roode officially join Immortal or does that happen tonight?

Jonny Chimpo: Did Roode officially join Immortal or does that happen tonight?

Even if he hasn't, it's the same bizarrely stupid template they've followed for Anderson, Angle, etc. And God knows how that's helped business.

Smackledorfer: You sound gay.

One word, used in a totally different context makes you immediately think of a guy's crotch.

And I'm the one who sounds gay....

You guys are gonna watch a TNA PPV?

Good luck and Godspeed.

I didn't think this turn was bizarrely stupid like Angle or Anderson, just stupid. I thought it would have been loads better if Roode beat Angle, and then Storm turned heel. My guess is when TNA thought about having the Canadian face versus the Southern redneck heel with there fan base wasn't the best idea.

I want to see either Roode return to his gimmick as the rich company CEO or Ted DiBiase or JBL to return to WWE just to see the writers try to be politically conscious and have an angle on them being the 1%.

Eh, the same people in TNA were the ones in WCW who thought the West Texas Rednecks singing "Rap is Crap" would be the heels against Master P and his entourage. I don't see giving them that credit, lol.

Okay, just tuned in and seeing the tag team match, when did Christina Von Eerie join TNA?

2011-11-13 08:32:14 PM
Every time I think TNA can't get a stupider ending, they do. Pantsing Mexican Guy #2 instead of pinning him?

Hopefully the X DIvision match will be good.

Does Jesse Sorensen have the face version of Alex Riley's NXT gimmick/Varsity Club? That's the best you could do TNA?

2011-11-13 08:36:56 PM
I like how the kid that Sorensen gave the football was like yeah, whatever.

If the plan was for Kid Kash to help Austin Aries retain his belt, couldn't he lay down for a pin?

He said he'll never wrestle. WWE Superstars perform Sports Entertainment. There's no wrestling involved at all.

I think that's a big thing to remember when Jericho says that.

2011-11-13 08:50:51 PM
Aries is a very good douchebaggy heel. Good on the stick, not as good as people say, though.

Foley did this better in the real ECW, Daniels.

2011-11-13 08:57:30 PM
If people wanted to see "straight wrestling" they wouldn't be watching TNA.

2011-11-13 09:08:04 PM
It's no DQ, that's why there was no disqualification.

You would think that after years of doing that that RVD's opponents would learn not to catch any chair that he throws at them.

Are they holding this PPV in some dude's garage? That's kinda what the audio sounds like.

The reading of the list of 1004 holds was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. "Number 97, the reverse arm bar."

I gotta say if you are watching the TNA PPV, this thread definitely does not belong in the entertainment tab.
