huh. I have absolutely no idea how I overlooked that, I looked at every single one expecting to see it in there. Maybe I should have had coffee first.

it happens. If I weren't such a jerk, I would post the findings of the list here in a easy to read format....but it is early and I am lazy....

What about the list in Schindler's List? That was supposed to be some list.

#15 DeLorean.

Marty questioned it, in the movie. Doc explained the stainless steel body helped with conducting/time travel blah blah, plus might as well travel in style. Something along those lines.

/gonna go fan boy somewhere else now.

Don't talk shiat about Keanu, man. He's given millions of dollars to cancer research as he supports his sister who is battling cancer. He's donated entire movie paychecks to good causes. He's given away his salary for the Matrix to the special effects and stunt crew.

What have you done, subby?

I_C_Weener: Ruby slippers?

Seriously. List fails completely without the slippers.

Glass slippers from Cinderella also deserve at least an honorable mention.

There is no "ring" to rule them all either.

The more I look at the list, the more I realize I had not seen many of the movies....

The DeLorean, but no Christine?

2011-11-13 09:57:16 AM

Mentat: The DeLorean, but no Christine?

I don't know if Christine would count, being an animated, possessed object hell-bent on killing.

2011-11-13 10:14:39 AM
The list is, with a few exceptions, what I call "props."

So the DeLorean isn't animated?

Buckaroo Banzai, the watermelon

As long as they included a sex doll, how about the doll from Serenity?

/But it talked at the end, does that count as "inanimate"?

This, basically. The list fails because it focuses on the wrong objects, skips other objects entirely, and appears to pitch the entire list to a specific segment of movie-goer.

2wolves : Buckaroo Banzai, the watermelon

Ha, ha, you're as old as I am! But seriously, the watermelon makes more sense than most items on this list... it was just seen in passing in a single scene, but everyone who saw the film remembers it.

The difference here is that Christine is acting on her own will. The Deloran must be driven by a human.

Forget the wallet, what about the briefcase? An entire generation of film geeks learned what a Macguffin was from that movie.

Also, no Maltese Falcon?

/Agree with others about light sabers, the Ark Of The Covenant, etc.

The "Pyramid jacket" reminded me of Ryan Phillippe's bloodied scorpion jacket in Drive. It's kind of ugly, but I still want one.
