I tell my kids I'm shipping them to Abu Dhabi. (Old Garfield cartoon joke. Nermel)

So one blown tire & you're done for the day?

Normally they'd just replace the tire, but in this case the blown tire damaged the entire rear quarter, making it no longer safe to drive.

If he'd have blown the tire close to the pits, he'd likely still be in the race.

Well, I woke up a little late and missed Vettel's smoking rear end. Did his diffuser shred his tire?

Unknown at this point. It just went near the start and he had to drive all the way around to the pit, destroying part of the car in the process.

It's not like Vettel had to worry about his points standings.

None of the cameras seem to have picked up anything obvious. He took a fairly aggressive line through turn one and it put the tire on the other side of the curb, but so did others.

When I saw a Red Bull spin off I assumed it was Webber, and when I saw it was Vettel I assumed it was somehow Hamilton's fault, and when I saw that he didn't have anything to do with it, I cheered.
