Jamdug!: Arrested?

I have a feeling if I did to the CEO of my company what she recommends, I would be getting a pink slip and a visit from the police.

Steve Jobs was the exception.

FTA: He described a world where our computers were so seamlessly integrated into our lives that everything we needed was easily accessible. He described the iPod, iPad, iPhone nearly 2 decades before they hit the market.

He described cellphones and Walkmans? In the 90s? Wow.

of course that only worked and continues to work for her because she is a hot Buddhist monk, anyone else would be in jail or have a court order against them for stalking

Ticka ticka ticka ding! My five minutes was up. I rose to leave, bowing a little as I backed away.
"I'm not done with you yet. Sit down."

what a dickish thing to say.

That was really stupid. Just go to a motivational speaker if you want a short-lived and useless inspirational moment.

She is a motivational speaker, or she runs a large motivational speaker company.

The little bit I read about her reminded me very much of the multi-level marketing folks I ran into as a teenager/college kid. Lots and lots of name dropping, vague tales of huge successes, but not a lot of substance.

Here is a review from someone who listened to an interview of hers and it certainly supports my initial feelings...
"I did find her interview interesting, but I could not get into it.. You certainly come out the other end wired by the energy, but I did not learn as much from this as i have from most of the others.

Good luck to her and best of success, but I must have a personality mismatch with her (couldn't relate)..

There was just too much name dropping (from Dalai Lama to Hilary Clinton), dropping big numbers (15x) and the talking was so fast that I did not feel Andrew nailed her down to much of the specific detail I love so much about mixergy.
"

This article was really just a story about how she pesters CEOs and other high-profile people with FedEx sent spam mail until they relent and talk to her. I'm always very sceptical of difficult to define accomplishments, like her 'being a Buddhist Monk', because well, pretty much anyone can claim such a thing. It's like being a 'black belt' or have a 'degree' (from a non-accredited non-name University).

I'm a priest! Only I don't actually do that full-time. It's like a side thing. I actually get people to pay me to talk to them about stuff. I'm very energetic, personable, and I give motivational, feel good, guidance that really can apply to anyone. 'YOU CAN'T GET WHAT YOU WANT, IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU WANT!' It's not enough to *look* at the horizon, you have to *walk* towards it. Everyone has their own path, the key is to follow yours!

At least, that's the impression I have.
