its not at all clear that the arcade game actually has anything to do with the function of the washing machine, but if it does:

Designing a machine to be less functional does not make your skills more useful.

Yeah, but the game is about washing clothes. The A and B buttons control jets of water and detergent. You better be really good at spinning the wheel or else you're pulling out sopping wet clothes. Then you better be good at "Dry Dry Revolution."
