As someone who has on one shoulder and π on the other I'm getting needled by this thread

Old trend is old. And I suspect that while some 'science tattoos' are awesome, most will be the mainstream TV sitcom equivalent, which is to say not any better than, yeah, the average random Asian-looking kanji tattoo that turns out to be copied from part of a toaster user manual.

Darn you sciencey people with your cool tattoos. I wish I was good at science. I always loved it. But I can barely add without a caculator
So instead I have some of Shakespeare's Henry V on my arm.

At least most of it isn't writing. I've yet to see a font/writing style that looks good on a tattoo.

/And no, all-caps blackletter certainly doesn't count. You just don't do that.
//Maybe there's some metafont variable to make Computer Modern look OK on skin

Ironically, the best I have seen has been Hebrew.

Or as one of my father's friends used to say of a relative he wasn't too fond of, "Yeah, we're related. My @$$-gut and his windpipe are cut from the same cloth."

1) Not new.
2) Not cool.
3) Not attractive.

I never understood the appeal of star tattoos. For a time, everyone was getting them, but it seemed like such a stupid thing to get. It looked tacky even when it was a trend (or, perhaps, because it was a trend), and had zero personalization. They just came across as something somebody got because they wanted a tattoo but had an inability to think for themselves - which is most of the tattoos out there, I suppose, stars or otherwise. Though even the ubiquitous tribal tats of the 90's could sometimes look neat. Stars came out as cheap and something you'd regret in a few years.

Point being, I'm not big into tattoos but if you're going to put something on your body, at least have it mean something important enough to you to deface your skin. Seeing a star or a tribal or a tramp stamp just tells me that the person is most likely a complete moron, same as the tit roses and arm eagles of yore. For my part, the tattoo I've got is ironic. It says "BLANK SPACE". It's been 20 years since I got it. I still like it. Maybe I'm a moron.

Her name is Kelly.

I guess she had trouble with people on both ends remembering that.

I want to get a full body tattoo of myself, only taller.

I know the girl with the finches tattoo, so I'm getting a kick out of this thread (however cool you imagine her to be, square that quantity).
